What would you suggest I get as far as air pumps? I've actually been thinking about getting a different one as I think I want more bubbles than I'm currently getting.

this is my current pump. Dual Outlet XP-60 http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752190

with one of these airstone discs in each bucket. http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752196

just read your journal up till now, nice setup you got
between budget grows and grows that have even thousands of bux invested into them i have to say the product is the same but the setup looks nicer and is easier to deal with if you invest the money
ill keep checking back, good luck
check out my grow

It's been about a week since my last post and I still have one good plant, and one pitiful plant.

I bumped up the nutes from a quarter strength to a half strength solution taking the ppm from ~350 to ~450. One plant seems to be taking the extra nutes but the other one pretty much started to burn right up.

I dumped half the solution and refilled with straight water.

Anything else I should do or just wait it out? :wall:

Here's one of the better plant.

I have a simaler setup and have hung Sun Blaster full spec 4 bulb reflectors within my tent around my 400w. My plants love it. In my cool cab I used valcro to fasten the bulbs vertically. They're very cost efficient and will give you 10000 hrs. Under buds are nice and juicy at harvest from all that florescent lighting into the canopy. The hydro bill wont budge. Can you explain your fan system?
cheers:leaf:

189cfm blower for intake. 464cfm inline fan at about half speed exhausting through carbon scrubber. One small fan blowing on plants and circulating air in the tent.

The bad plant has started to turn around I think. The top set of leaves has perked up and the burn hasn't progressed anymore.

The good plant is still going strong, but I think I may be starting to run into root rot issues. I'm having a really hard time keeping the res temps down in such a small space and they are constantly in the range of 78-82 degrees which is obviously ridiculously too high. I've started adding frozen 20oz. bottles to the res, but can only get it to around 75.

I'm also adding about 20ml of 3% H2O2 per day to try and combat the possible root rot while I figure out something to do about the temperature problem.

I'd like to buy an aquarium chiller, but from what i read peltier based chillers don't work very well, and condenser based chillers start at about $300 which for my small 2 plant operation is a little ridiculous. However, if it comes down to it and I can't find any other way I'll probably end up just getting one. :wall:

"Good" plant

Thanks purplekitty. love your signature by the way. Doug rules.

At the expense of me being freezing I decided to just crank the air conditioning in my house. Seems to be kicking some major ass on all my temperature problems (obviously). Takes the temp in my tent from 86-90 down to 75-80 and helps keep my res temp at a slightly more reasonable level...but I'm freezing.

Hey guys. I got kinda sick of taking pics so much. Sorry I didn't post for a while.

I ripped out the sickly plant a few days ago, but the remaining plant is doing very well. It's 13" tall and really dense. I'm starting flowering tonight and will be changing the bulb to a 400W hps.

Thanks guys.

I try to keep the water at 5.8 as consistently as possible. I check PH and add PH down as needed about 3-4 times a day.

I vegg'd for about 5 weeks i think. I was planning on longer, but I started to get worried about vertical space, so I'm 2 days into flowering now.

5 weeks is nice,

did she start showing pre-flowers before
you put her in 12/12???

What the experts say is that you should veg them
until you see pre-flowers, then put them in 12/12, but

everyone doesn't have the space to veg them that long...

I would think that when you vegged her that long she'd show.

She's beautiful btw.
