How am I doing?

2 tablespoons per gallon...

The Foxfarm feeding chart basically is everything half strength of what the bottle says.

What I do...

I mix up a regiment for 20 gallons, into ten gallons, then I add water until I reach the desired ppm/ec... Then I adjust the pH, then water.
Alright, good to know. I'll feed with only Big Bloom for a bit till I get it up to full strength, then I'll add Grow big 1/4 strength. Going to feed with every other water. I need to get this shit together.

The plants are twisting and curling and the leaves are drying up especially on one of the plants. The seedlings still show no sign of growth except for the roots. What should I do?

Any other tips?

Are the seedlings twisting and gnarly?

It might just be overwatering...

Are you letting it dry out thouroughly?

Example, my 5 gallon bucket feel light as air when it's time to water... All of the moisture is up in the plant...

Yeah the leaves are twisting like crazy and drying up. The colour of the plants is beginning to be kind of black. I think they might be dying:S
I highly doubt it is over watering. The pots feel feather light and I water every 7 days.

Well, I'm about to transplant the plants. I'll take pics of the roots.
I chose 3 gal pots because all the store had was 3 and 7.

Well, I have concluded that the problem is the water.
What do you guys suggest for a water filtration system? other than RO

If you just have a couple plants, you could buy distilled, or you can get a water distiller.
Good point. I'm still not sure if I should get an RO system, Hydro-Logic Small Boy, or a water distiller. The cheaper the better. I guess I'll keep researching.:)

Whats wrong with the water that is affecting your plants????? Is it the ph or other chemicals in your water?????

PH is way too high, and chlorine. I let the water sit for more than 24 hours to evaporate the chlorine but I'm skeptical that this works, because my plants are yellowing more and more with every water. I'm also not too sure what other chemicals are in the water, but my plants don't seem to like it.:(

I bought one of those britta water filters---- it looks like a little pitcher for water,, you pour the water in the container and it filters it in a minute,, works great,, then you just adjust the ph,,,, ph down works best in my opinion, although i have tryed dif. Ways but nothing works like this stuff..... Good luck....

Yeah, I actually do have a britta filter, but I think it really screws with the ph.

Britta filters don't really fuck withj anything... They remove solid matter, that's about it.

If you do a tds/ec reading before and after the filtering, it tests the same.

RO or distilled will get you back to pure water.

You said that it's turning black?

Definately dying, cut your losses on that one would be my guess. IDK what the real problem is, are the seedlings doing well?

I wanted to add in, on the feeding chart it recommends BigBloom only for the first 3 weeks, that's with ocean forest soil, which already has guanos in it... What's the humidity level? If everything's in check, I doubt it's the water... Didn't you say you got a reading of 110ppm on your tap?

Well, the plants were not rootbound, but they looked decent. I killed the weakest plants to make room for new seedlings that I am going to be planting today or tomorrow depending when the seeds germ.

Oh, and letting the water sit 48 hours definately lets the chlorine evaporate... Chlorine is a gas in it's purest form at room temperature. It will evaporate, even quicker if you have a pump and airstone in there...

Well the ppm is around 200 now sometimes a bit higher, but the ph is crazy high. The plants are twisting and not growing at all man.I guess I'll go back to using the filtered water and just add ph down and see how they react to that. I don't know what else it could be other than the water, do you guys have an idea?

Yup, that ones is gone. The seedlings are not growing a lot, but the roots are and I just transplanted so hopefully they like their 3 gal pots:)
Want me to post pics of the tent that is updated?

It's your journal...

Twisting is usually a pH problem... Do you have a pH meter? I forgot...

Next waterng adjust the PH to 6.2, water them, then collect the runoff from the bottom of the pot as it comes out.

Test the pH and ppms of the runoff water, it should be the same as what you put in. If there is any difference in the ppm or pH, you'll know the problem.

Lol, true.

Yeah i got a ph pen. I'll check the run off this next water.
My next visit to the hydro shop will be a MH bulb and ph down.

Ok, so I'm not sure if this is bad or not. The filter I have says that it contains 0.12 grams of pesticides or something like that. The filter I have is a Nikken Aqua Pour Gravity filter. What do you guys think?
