hello all. this is my first! I lerk around all the time but never post! so here goes it!

I have no idea what im doing but its a weed, right? cant be hard.

i have a grow box made out of a milk carton and some space blankets! im using 3 CFLS so far. 2 4100k 150W Bigest ones from LOWS and a 5500k Grow CFL from a shop.

i remebered how to get plants going from school with a baggie and wet papper towl! works for me!

I am trying to do this as cheep as posable. I started it around 11/10/08 i saved all the Super dank i been getting here in the good ol state of MO! i put about 8 seedlings in (i figured most will die, and the stong would live)

I water about once ever 4ish days

Welcome to the forum Chris!! Sounds like you're off to a good start, but make sure you aren't planting all your seedlings in the same milk carton. Those roots will eventually start messing each other up. If it's possible, I'd get 8 separate milk cartons for each seedling. growing super fast, water and 24hrs of light! I let them out in the living room when i am home for "play time"

same only watering now 1 every 3ish days! and i added some vit c and vit e! and i have this!

As i said i only have 2 living now (they all died except 2 big strong ones) but oh well!

i wish i could but there cell phone shots for now, and i have them growing in a milk crate ( as like a grow box) i will get better pics here soon! thanks for checking it out, it!bongsmilie

the next day 12/3/08 as said better pics!
let me know what you guys see/ think , still 24/7 light watering about every 3-4ish days no ph testing nothing just leaving it alone to do its own thing! so hard to just leave it alone!

so i see little lil spikes on every lil branch, there not leaves, kinda weird this mean female? i not to shure on this one. plus when shuld i start my light cy? heres were i start need to know what im doing thanks guys/ ladies!

more pics! and need be i can fix the seedling pics to be bigger just to big of a hassle! but will do it.


SHOW OFF PICS! its about a month old now! and i just decided to post today coz im board at work lol.


you can kinda see how i have the milk crate as a grow box, plus i have a small box fan to turn on when i home. but i learned not to leave it on coz i killed 1 biggie (not piced) like 2 weeks ago lol

ok its the 30th now... am well shes doing ok.

Went out of town for 4 days got a lil close to my lamps lol besides that looking good right?

how much longer till i shuld start flowering?

im still 24/7 lights, she smells strong, and looks very heathy

Looks really good. As for weither it's male or female i'm pretty sure you can only find out by flowering it. It looks ready to flower but the bigger you let it get while vegging the more buds it will produce. Though I heard most plants double and sometimes tripple in size when flowered. If you plan on flowering with CFL's make sure you have a good ammount of Warm Whites and I heard adding 1 or 2 Cool White CFL's is also good.You'd be better asking a person in the CFL Crew when it comes to ammount of light you'll need for flowering. Though they look like healthy plants that are ready to flower Good Luck :bigjoint:

hello just a quick question instead of using celotex on the walls of my grow room is it true you can use silver kitchen foil instead

from what i have read, its a bad idea coz it traps heat..... but in my pics you will see it. I have space blankets around my stuff, with a lil foil coz, i keep it cold in my house!

so i guess yes use it, but be very carefull

I wouldn't. Go to Wal-Mart or Target and buy an emergency blanket from the camping section for $2. Cheaper and better than foil.

foil is a bad idea not because it traps heat but because it concentrates it into small areas on the plant, making hot spots on the plants and more often than not causes some sort of burning on the plants. space blankets are good because they are closer to mylar but still will creat small hotspots. with cfls you shouldnt have to worry about hot spots tho, tin foil and space plankets are fine when the lights dont give off much heat... with hps or mh lighting foil is a major no no.

yo grey. this is wierd because a buddy of mine was telling me how his friend was going to make a little grow box out of a milk crate and use some space blankets for reflection. what a coincidence.

your plant is looking healthy but i would change it over to 18/6 for the next few weeks or even a month... depending on how big you want it. if you started flowering it out now you would get one big budd but if you wait another month there will be more branch growth and more bud sites. its all up to the space you have available tho. for flowering i would pic up some of the 42w 2700k cfls they have at walmart or lowes, they come one in a package and cost about 7$ each, but its almost double the watts of the bulbs you have now. make sure with the cfl bulbs that you go by the amount of watts used by it not the equivelent.

ok im headed to walmart here in a cupple hrs anyway, ill pick up a timer and one of those 10 bulb boxes, and ill rig something up!

as for my lights here are the specs, 2. 2700k 23w (100w) 1. 5500k 27w (100ish) 1. 40w 2700k (150w) i was going on a fourmula that higher wattage out put the better for lumes right? so is 24/7 light doing any good?

And yes i do what it to have as much buddage as possable, who dosnt lol
i have plenty of room, just guide me :)
