Why my buds turning brown?

My buds have been curing for 2 weeks tomorrow, i have been opening the jar daily for an hour or so and rotating the buds, i noticed last night some of the buds that had been on the bottom (the bottom half of the bud touching the jar bottom) had gone brown, anyone know why, is this normal

Just break open a few buds and check for any furry mould, white, grey, brown black or whatever or any powdery mildew or any weird musty smells.

It can be normal for the buds to darken or lighten in color during the curing process, but the reason i say about mould is i had a couple of my plants top colas rot on me a while back, but while the plants were still growing and finishing off, and the thing that gave it away was some parts of the outside of the colas had started to go brown, on a closer look i found the whole middles were rotten.

probably isnt mould mate, but worth checking for.

whats the smoke like? Has it made a difrence?
I can't really tell as last night was the first night i smoked it without drying it out in the oen lol, seemed ok tho, its not all the buds was just a few on the bottom layer, i had thejar out in my room last night (its usually in a dark cupboard) it was outfor about 2 - 3 hours could this be why, as its the first time ive noticed this

type "bud rot" in googe images, the first photo that comes up is a perfect example of bud rot. cut any mold off the buds, because it will ruin everything. you must have put them in the jar to wet. you should spread them out on a screen and let them dry for a few days before putting them into jar.

Cut them down 5 days after watering then hung them in a dark cupboard at room temperature for 5 days then jared it in a brand new mason jar

Yea id hang for a little longer than 5days, depending on the size of the buds tho obviously, did you have air movement/exchange in the cupboard while they were drying in there, if not and the cupboard door was closed, the drying buds release so much moisture into the air that the air becomes saturated and humidity levels rocket, which can allow for germination of many mould/fungal spore species.

You might have went to the jar a little soon, i like to put mine in paper bags after they hang, what do the buds feel like? Firm and dry on the outside? Or a little soft and spongy.

OMG I googled Bud rot and the images of those destroyed buds were....sad so sad.

Just when I thought I knew all the dangers in these final weeks I discover the possiblity or BUD ROT. Keeping an even better eye on my pretties these last few weeks before harvest.

No i didn't have a fan spare to circulate the air and was told it would prob be ok without 1..

Just a thought when i trimmed these buds was i supposed to trim the leaves off and the pistils right down to the bud surface?

I think the brown bits could be pistils as i only really trimmed the bud leafs off to were the pistils ended
