So apparently Israel is threatening to pull a ground attack against Hamas. They are currently lining up tanks around the border.

Are they gonna do it? Or is this just scare tactics?

The simple fact of the matter is when the cease fire agreement expired.........it was Hamas that began launching relative spitwads into Israel....and now the Islamic world wants us to believe that Israel's response is "disproportionate" when in fact Hamas, and everyone else in the world, knew Israel would respond the way that is has before Hamas began firing their spitwads.

I read something interesting the other day, and I can't remember where it was. But, the crux of the argument in that piece was that the PLO was in secret kind of hoping for Hamas to get blown to smithereens so that the PLO could takeover for Hamas in Gaza.

Regardless, I think they will "invade" but it won't last long. And I don't think they'll try to take Gaza back. I think they'll just kick some ass, and then leave the PLO or Hamas to pick up the pieces.....

What would would you do if someone occupied your homeland, treated the people as second class citizens, blockades your homeland so the people have to live in squalor, constantly kill woman and children, constructs checkpoints in your own land limiting the freedom of the people, builds illegal settlements in your terriortory, builds walls around your town. The West bank has not fired rockets yet there land is still occupied by the Israeli military, so obviously being passive has not gotten the palestinians anywhere in the past 40 years, the only recourse is armed resistance. Would you resist the the humilation or would you take it like a bitch?, do you belive in freedom. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=3b3_1230864719

^^^ Don't worry Natrone ... beginning January 20, Hillary Clintoon will be Secretary of State, and as you know, based upon her "35 years of experience," and her campaign rhetoric, she'll be "ready from day one."

Hmmph, perhaps a more interesting question, and relevant question, would be ask, "What would you do if you had been chased out of your homeland, and had been unable to return for almost 1,900 years, and when you returned there was another group of people that had made claim to it, and refused to let you inhabit your historical homeland?"

I'm fed up of them both... I'd nuke them both... let them start over..no US weapons to any side...What does Israel expect when they invade and settle where they said they wouldn't, and were found guilty by world courts, and were found to hold no claim there.. plus what do they expect the PLO to do..just sit there and take the one sided weaponry.. Another fine mess thanks to US gov. inability to mind their own business... And if Israel is such a good friend to the US..where the hell are their troops in Iraq or Afghanistan..

Nat.
Gaza is a sort of lab experiment in the Middle East. Recall for a minute: the Israelis withdrew en masse, a so-called “retreat” that reverberated all over the Middle East. The West supported free and open elections that gave Hamas their legitimacy, such as it was. Gaza is strategically placed on the Mediterranean with a prime shoreline. It borders Egypt the traditional center of the Arab world. Hundreds of millions of dollars of Middle-East oil money, and Western relief donations have poured into the tiny state. Israeli clearly wants no more of it, and would love to let Gaza alone to be Dubai.

Yeah, Israel is really "Humiliating" the young Arabs in Gaza.

You twit. How many times has Israel bended over backwards, given up its land for "peace"? And every time IRAN wants none of it. Yeah, that's right. The AP and Reuters don't like to tell you very often, but Hamas is nothing more than an Iranian militia stationed in Gaza..........And Israel, and the Zionist want to kill these people so fucking much..........that we keep giving them land AND SUPPORT THEIR ELECTIONS!

Go back to Kos.

Israel is wrong on so many issues dealing with the palestinians. They bring Modern weaponry to bear on people that only have rocks and puny little rockets, Kind of like how we attack the weak, but leave those with nukes alone. Yeah Israel is double wrong here.

Actually they'll go after people that have nukes (or are trying to get nukes, too.) The possibility of Iraqi Nukes only stirred them into bombing Iraq's nuclear facilities into dust in the 90s.

Of course, the liberals probably still haven't heard about it since it wasn't possible to paint it into a TMI-like "disaster" or a Chernobyl (which really was a disaster, but the Russians were doing stupid shit that shouldn't be done with Nuclear Reactors.)

Translation = "Israel is an ally of the United States and the only democracy in the Middle East. I am an America Hater and a socialist , therefore, I hate Israel."

At least someone gets the full story.
It doesn't matter who had the land 2000 years ago or whatever they lost it and had absolutely ZERO right to go take it back after all this time.

There is no god, there is no chosen people, what a crock of shit.

There is not a place on this earth that wasn't stolen by someone from someone else... But we don't support everyone going back and fighting over it now. Everyone had a perfectly good place to live and nobody needed to go taking any land back.

What's done was done and we have absolutely no sense at all backing Israel this entire time since day one.

All those poor people in a shitty ass desert environment were barely getting by to begin with.

(No I don't support killing or bombing etc, but the whole thing is wrong. Israel is the bad guy there and I'm suprised more don't see it that way.)

then why did Hamas start firing rockets first? This certainly isn't the first instance where these two have fought? Surly they knew they were out-gunned.........And yet, on no provocation whatsoever, they began lobbing rockets into Israel.

Hamas keeps its people in poverty, and uses them as a tool, so fools like you will support them and feel sorry for them. How come Israel is the only side willing to have a two state co-existence?

The provocation is in everything the Israelis have done and continue to do to this day to everyone else in that area...

I'm no fan of Hamas, they do what they can with what they've got. They are well outgunned, but the spirit is strong. I'm pretty sure if there was an equal distribution of the land and the Israelis didn't block all the roads and corral the palestinians like sheep, there could be something worked out, who knows, maybe the situation is FUBAR.

FUBAR describes the Middle East for the last 5,000 years, and Africa for the last 3,000.

Those peoples have been killing, enslaving, raping, and torturing each other for longer than China's been a nation. To think we can make them stop now is foolish.

Hamas and their ideals are like Israels belief that because of the past (holocaust) that the world owes them... Hamas and the fundamental religions will NEVER change their hate of infidels and Israel uses the past to seek sympathy from the world...

Well then perhaps we should instruct both sides to fight to the death and make an end to their squabbling once and for all...

or adopt the more extreme suggestion here and nuke them both out of existence.

Though what I can't understand is how the left can argue that what happened more than a hundred years ago when they are still crying over the fact that we were mean and cruel to the Indians and stole their land. If it doesn't matter in Israel's case, why does it matter in ours?
