Actually I wouldn't know how they smell. The ionic pro is working its ass off! When i touch them though they smell rather pine like. Very strong stuff.

The pistils are all white and they havent swollen up much!
aww comeon silly wabbit...Pistils dont swell. You surely must have ment calyxes:o
They are the parts where seeds are formed. They swell right about a week B4 harvest when there are no seeds forming.

The Pistils DO start knotting together a little bit when your getting closer though. As well as browning to those darker red colored hairs Sometimes b4 the calyxes go, sometimes after depends on strain.

Now that I got that out of the way Im gonna back track some more to see whats up with all this talk about your roots...

Pics for those of you that can help!!

These are my problems as of now......

This is the bottom. Although it has been like this for weeks now

These are some overall bud shots and plant growth.

err, Honey that is a calcium deficiency still.
They usually start in the bottom of the plant and gradually work their way up to the top of the plant. General necrosis in random spots of the leaves where the leaves look like they have rust on them is about the best sign of it. This is also why the leaves are curling twords the floor.

Soil is really the only medium that dosent have to worry about these as the soil provides that calcium and magneseum in most cases (sometimes it still needs to be supplemented)
It will gradually make your plant look uglier and uglier by messing up the fans and when it gets most of those it usually starts on those little leaves that are attached to the buds directly.
Then after those are nearly all gone, a plant cant feed itself and then dies.

You might make it to harvest if you dont take care of it but from the progression so far, it dosent appear to me that they would make it another 5-6 weeks for them to finish although I could be wrong on that.

I dont have a ppm so the ppm is unknown.. the flowering nutes i am using are ff big bloom, gh flora bloom, gh vegan compost tea, carbo load.

You also may want to be carefull about the amount of h202 that you use if that compost tea has any beneficial bacterias added into it.
The peroxide would kill them and they are VERY VERY VERY beneficial to a hydro grow if it does contain any.

BTW I would like to see your roots if you dont mind to snap a pic. Not because Im worried about them persay, but because I like looking up the gals skirts. LOL:mrgreen:

You can purchase some Cal-Mag which adds Calcium and Magnesium, however Cal-Mag usually is only needed with RO water. Tap water has lots of Calcium and Magnesium in it already, but who knows for sure since you don't have a PPM meter. I would suggest purchasing a PPM meter first and foremost, it's hard to diagnose the problem without one.

Yea, one of the downfalls of being a hydro grower is the initial setup cost. My meter/pen was close to 200$ :(

The PPM meter is like the Pimp for your biotches, it keeps em in check!

Just look @ getting a ppm pen for right now net' Make sure that it goes to 2000 Ppms before you buy it. You can get a nicer, more expensive meter later if you choose to. Ive grown in DWC without one and its pretty easy if you just pay attention to signs the plants show you... But you need to be super attentive this way and that most times is not easy to do all the time.

A ppm or Ec meter would help you get better adjusted to giving your plants nutrients as it would let you know EXACTLLY how much you are increasing each feeding by. As well as you could take the ppm of the res and see how much food that your plant actually USED (by subtracting whatever the ppm comes out @ by what the ppms where when you put them into the plants container to find the difference, thats how much food the plant has used)

Hello everyone! Today is a great day isn't it! My new 150 watt HPS is in place and working great over powering my cfl's, I have an HPS for the bottom bud sites and hopefully I get some cal-mag later on in the afternoon! The plants are doing good. I do believe that the cal def is still there but it's too early to tell. The roots seem to be keeping it together but also too early. We shall see.
