Well Doc, here they are, and thanks to your good advice they are looking good. It is day 11 and buds are starting to form.If your trying to squeeze as many plants in that tent as possible then you will want to lollipop the plants. FIM or TOPPING would be fine if you were going to grow out only a few plants in that tent. Just an opinion but I would fill the 3 gallon bags 1/2 full(1.5 gal of medium) the reason I would stick with the 3 gals is because they will give the plants the correct spacing in that size as not to overcrowd them and the plants will still have ample room to spread out there roots even if you decide to run with a long flowering sativa Dom strain. I don't know how much head room you have in your tent so If you have 4' or less below your light then you need to flower those girls when they are 9" or less for indi' and inbreds----and 6" for sativa or sativa hybrids--other wise you will run into height problems---I would then strip everything from 1/2 down at week 3. Don't fall in love with the branches either--anything longer than a inch get cut all the way up(except fan leafs of course.-------If you have more head room then start the girls an inch per foot taller-------5' headroom below hoods----10" start-------6' headroom below hoods----11" start. Hope this helps you with your decision.
Not yet---lets get the run-off reading first then go from there----Tiger bloom is a little strong but at that dose you should be fine----molasses/super-thrive are mild at those doses so that shouldn't be a problem. Let me know as soon as you get the meter.ill have to pick up a meter today...i give them molasses once a week and tiger bloom once a week two tsp for each...they get superthrive every other week...if i have a build up would u recommend a clean water flush?
You need to get the dolomite---I will put together something for you as far as how I solve plant problems but for the most part its fairly simple. 1. Plant problems show on the plant in visual signs. 2. Most of the visual signs point to a specific problem. 3. Using the testing methods you rule out or confirm the problem. 4. Take the necessary steps to correct problem. I use the testing methods because it take most of the guess work out and it works!!!.I have pure Magnesium sulphate (grain powder form) at the ready would it be ok for me to use this instead of dolomite lime? If so would 1 table spoon be enough?
Lilly Miller chealeted form of micro's? I checked it out unfortunately I dont think we have that in the U.K. would you be able to point out something universal from a popular brand from say ebay? (sorry I dont mean to make you do the work for me).
In the future Id like to be able to identify problems & solve them the way you did, so would you be able to briefly explain how you can tell what the plant is deficient in from analysing the run off results & by looking at the pics I posted.
Thank you doc.
The girl in my avatar is a super model from Australia named "Gema Ward" (does alot of modelling for Prada) shes absolutely gorgeous isnt she
Much appreciated thank you very much, Ill search for the dolmomitein the U.K. as for the "chealeted form of micro's" what is this? Its proving difficult to locate in U.K.You need to get the dolomite---I will put together something for you as far as how I solve plant problems but for the most part its fairly simple. 1. hey doc...my run off tests are---ph 6.3 and ppm is 900...i did find that adding an additional humidifier made a difference in the room...all the plants are looking very lively!...the hum is staying 44 to 49...with the nutes i use i dont even think i give them a full 2 tsp....the soil i use comes from an old pig farm that has been closed for about 20 yrs...all the top soil was pushed into giant mounds that i grow in in the summer..it produces some monsters! everything that grows on the mounds looks like its on steroids..even the grass...ive only dosed the plants twice with the TB...but now that im into my 3rd week im wondering if i should give them a heavy feeding dose?...the durga matas are about a 55 day flowerer... the other two im not sure about...the matas are supposed to do really well with big hits of bloom nutes without reprocussion...but i havent given them too much at allNot yet---lets get the run-off reading first then go from there----Tiger bloom is a little strong but at that dose you should be fine----molasses/super-thrive are mild at those doses so that shouldn't be a problem. Cut you ppms back to 650 and only feed with every other watering. I can't remember????--If you are using RO then add a cal/mag supplement---if not let you water stand overnight before use.hey doc...my run off tests are---ph 6.3 and ppm is 900...i did find that adding an additional humidifier made a difference in the room...all the plants are looking very lively!...the hum is staying 44 to 49...with the nutes i use i dont even think i give them a full 2 tsp....the soil i use comes from an old pig farm that has been closed for about 20 yrs...all the top soil was pushed into giant mounds that i grow in in the summer..it produces some monsters! everything that grows on the mounds looks like its on steroids..even the grass...ive only dosed the plants twice with the TB...but now that im into my 3rd week im wondering if i should give them a heavy feeding dose?...the durga matas are about a 55 day flowerer... the other two im not sure about...the matas are supposed to do really well with big hits of bloom nutes without reprocussion...but i havent given them too much at all
It's your call---A 400 will cover 8 square feet and a 600 will cover 12 square feet. If you can start with the 600 ---more luman output than do it---If you run with the 400 you can also put it a few inches closer to the plants than the 600 so that the plants would be recieving the same number of lumens from the 400 as the 600. Hope that helps.Hello Dr,
I'm looking to upgrade to a 600w HID Lamp from a 400w
My question is this could i use my 400w in the early part of flowering say the first couple of weeks, and then change it over to the 600w?
Or should i use the 600w immediately when i switch to flower?
Would you let me the reasons for and against if known? Thanks KB
I'm working with four plants within a sqaure metre.....So if i understand you right because the 600w would need to be raised slightly higher than the 400w the extra lumens would be lost so i would have no benefit to upgrade then? It's your call---A 400 will cover 8 square feet and a 600 will cover 12 square feet.
