Can you govern the height of your plant?

im tring to see if i can keep my plant a little shorter. i was just wondering if trimming it often will keep it shorter. (im new) thanks

trimming would actually be bad, and the only reason that would work is if you trim too much and it stunts. The only way I know is by cutting the vegetative period, if you want a short final plant cut the vegetative time. You can even go right into flowering, and "dwarf" them that will keep them under 2 ft. for the most part.

if your in veg you can trim no more than a third of the plant off or a better option is to just bend it and tye it down

O, and to all the ppl who trim there plants, I didn't mean to say that trimming is "bad" in general, but I just think in his instence it would not help. I believe you should only trim dead potions, but that's just me.

best just to say as long as you do all your trimming at least a week b4 flowering you will be cool and after that only the dead leaves that fall off when you gently tug on em

Ya, I was afraid of that, but I hope I cleared it all w/ that second post. I'm just not the trimmer, and I know many growers are. I respect that. So I hope I haven't started anything tooooo big.

i use a product called bushmaster to halt vertical growth. its hard to get dialed in right, but when you do its great.

I start to trim when my main stalk has 4 to 5 sets of nodes, I take the top off and them trim the tops of the closest shoots.

Trimming is not bad but you need to remember that anytime you cut your plant it stresses a little and will take a day or two to recover and begin normal growth again.

This will increase your veg time by a few weeks if you are trimming to get a plant as wide and bushy as her genetics will allow.

So if time is of no concern do some WEED Bonsai and trim away a little at a time to get a feel for it.

However if your main concern is fastest way from seed to weed, I would reccomend LST method to control height and canopy coverage.
