Germination

Hi Guys,

Just a quick question.

My seeds have germinated successfully using the paper towel method and I'm now ready to transplant into rockwool. Just wanted to know a few things:

Do they need light once initially transplanted?

Do they need nutrients once initially transplanted?

Is there any process to "prepare" the rockwool before adding the new seed and sprout?

Can I water the rockwool using my ebb and flow system or it be just a few drops a day?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

yea no nutes water the rookwool so its well and saturated dont need the ebb and flow i cut open 16 oz bottles and put one rockwool in each and little extra water so they stay saturarted use a pencil to make a hole for the seed /taproot then i gently put the white end down and put under light and ur set

You def want humidity until they sprout. Plastic lunch bags work like magic. Once they do sprout take the bags or humid dome off to avoid damping off. Once they sprout you'll have the cotelydons, but once you get the first pair of blade leaves, your going to want nutes. In soil, you don't need nutes for at least the first couple of weeks. In RW there are no immediate nutes available so you need to add a small amount of nutes until you put them in your setup, which I usually do after the first week, and has the nutes they need. :peace::peace::peace:

Yes I forgot about that, but it's very important to pre soak your RW. I've never used H2O2 tho. I don't think that it is vital.
