Smokere- sorry man. you are growing under floresent. wouldnt that make it so you have more roots to deal with?
The root ball has developed great. non of the roots are comming out of the bottom at all.

I do flush my plants from time to time but right now I ain't worried as we've had several recent downpours.Mine ain't really hands-free,I check em almost everyday.Not trying to fight or disrespect anybody,especially expirenced growers.Correct me if I'm wrong but don't start saying I'm talking garbage.I didn't come here for bullshit-they got myspace,yahoo,and aim for that.I came to exchange ideas with other growers.Peace

What's the symptoms of a root bound plant?
Explain to me why your plants were rootbound, over and above the rediculous statement that the roots were showing out of the holes, which does NOT represent a rootbound plant by the way.

Sorry I was offline for a few helping my gf out.We both just got in an ATV accident so it's kinda hard for her to shower and get around.But ok my plants slowed down growin,leaves started turnin yellow,had roots coming out of the bottom an was starting to come up from the top of the soil.I changed each pot and the roots were so dense I could barely see the soil.I went through 150lbs of new soil changing all my pots.I have 23 plants in all...only one is still giving me a problem but I'll discuss that after we get this whole root-bound thing out of the way.

Perhaps you should have thought about giving them some nutrient feed then? The symptoms you describe are wholly consistent with a lack of feeding.
If you actually notice, plants will root out a new pot (and show roots at the drain holes) within a week of being repotted into a new pot. Just because they show roots at the drainage holes DOES NOT mean they're root bound, nether do yellow leaves, but a slow down in growth is usually a good sign the roots aren't able to uptake sufficient nutrients or water to sustain healthy growth - so you have to feed them.
Plants do not get root bound if you understand their nutrient and water requirements - regardless of what size pot they're in.

Yeah I know but the roots were so thick that no dirt even fell off when I took them out.Could of been a defiency cause I had to use regular dirt from the woods for awhile but have since gotten new soil and repotted.Lack of feeding-I don't see how cause I feed them every couple days with a mix of MG all purpose and some epsom salt.Growth has sped back up since I did all this.Any other ideas??
