Vegetative to flowering ???

I wanna know when should I pass from the vegetative stage (16 hours of light a day) to flowering stage (12 hours of light a day) ???

The second question that I have is if I can flower my ladies with the same light that I am growing them now. I dont have a HPS lamp but I use three 2ft fluorescent growing lights. Is it possible to flower them with this light?

If somebody will be able to answer to both of my question I'll appreciate very much.

You can of course flower with that but man youll have some airy fluffy buds you need hps to make them dense and put on the good weight.

you change when ever you want but if you only have three 2ft fluros i would flower now because you probably won't be able to flower a very big plant. I would invest in better lighting...but i know its expensive....so i would spend extra money as you get it on any supplemental CFL lighting you can....or save up and get the HPS you probably won't be overly happy with the results you will get from what you have.

I would definitely flower after no more than 2 1/2 weeks with those.They work decent for veging but 2ft fluoros really dont produce enough light to support large plant growth. Chances are you'll have one good main cola but the rest of the smaller buds will be very popcorn. I started out with tubes but had to move to cfls quickly , i could tell my plants needed more light. I would just combo those with a 4 pack of 2700k cfls and youl get way better results. There cheap too probably under 6 bucks for a 4 pack. Check out my progress so far just click on my link. The bigger you let them get the more light you're going to need to cover the space they take up. You still need more light, what you have now is insufficient for one plant. If you insist on using tube floros look up LST here it's Low Stress Training and SCROG, that will keep your bud sites at a consistent height so you'll get more out of your flat lighting surface. Hit the FAQ here linked at the top of each page and grab a pencil and a calculator and you'll know the exacts.

def. worth the money. it comes prewired for 277 volt with a cord and 277 volt plug. just cut off the plug put 120 volt or 220 volt plug on. rewire the ballast for the right volts.

if you take apart the 4 srews that holds the ballast housing together you can get to the screws for the socket. take it apart and make it remote or use it like it is if you got a good exhaust and ceiling height. if you need measurements pm me and let me know. by the way im not the one selling these but i know the lights.

Yeah i agree with a little knowhow it would be no problem to fit these ones out for a nice grow. Thats honestly the cheapest 400w ive seen in a while tho

ok...i got that is "not cool" to flower them with what I have. But what if I add 4 or 8 more CFLs?

So...you're saying that if I get that HPS lamp and I cut off the original plug and I connect a "normal" plug to it and then plug it in... will work???coz to create a balast ??? i dont think I know how...i do shit, but balast ????

Yeah cuz in the states we use 120 not 227 so the plucg that goes in the wall is just different. All you'd be doing is changing the plug, just chop off the old one and attach a regular one that fits your wall plug in.

we use 277 volts in the states also but in commercial and industrial. thats what these lights are made for.
you need to change the plug and change the wires inside the ballast to whatever voltage you are using. it very simple to do.
it just comes prewired for 277 volt but the ballast is multi tap.

so I added 8 more CFLs (1600 luminos each). The closet where I am growing is pretty small so I think that should be enough. I'll try to add some pics so anybody who wants to give me some advices, is welcome.

Do you guys think that after two weeks of vegetating the plant is ready for flower??? will the stem be strong enough for buds???

my plants r 2 months old....
im in veg at the moment but will switch 2 flowering soon...
using a 45w 3-25w 6500k and 4 2700k cfl's... my plants r really happy
when i switch ill change all the bulbs to 2700k... and if really needed ill add a 250w hps

i personaly think it too soon. the plants will respond much better if you wait until you get preflowers and alternating nodes. alot of when you go to flower depends on the strain, grow room height, and growing method or technique. although you can start a seed in 12/12 and go all the through to the end but a longer veg. will give you more yield. i like to wait till about 18" or more before i switch to 12/12.

yes they will but the yield will be lower and the buds will be fluffier than if you used an hps. alot people use fluoros and cfl's for the whole grow. i think the potency should be the same, but you wont get nice big compact dense buds.
