Many Designs.. which has the best yield?

Ok so im just finishing up my first small grow... Built a grow box out of an armoire I got off craigslist. Everything is very hidden and legit with flower room on top and veg on bottom. Built the whole thing with my buddy out of rubbermaid containers for a drip table etc. Co2 was by far the most expensive and best investment i put into her.

I am now looking do a larger scale grow and would like to know as far as yield what would be the best way to go for a 6 x 6 x7 tent . I can according to state law in my county have 24 plants. I am wondering if it would be best to to build a vertical grow system in which i have seen some impressive yields or if big tree is the way to go.

My first design would be somewhat of an imitation of heath robinsions vertical grow shown on this form. except i would like to put the tubes on more of an angle for better drainage so i can use drippers because my success with them. usine gravity to drain to waste so they always have constant supply of fresh nutes instead of re-circuilated crap. Also i wud use a 600 watt digital on top and a 250-600 on the bottom.

My second idea is a design similar to that large ass comercial grow in canada that was shown on the Explorer on Pot i hope everyone has seen it or u missed out. But basically he had a barn full of what seemed to be like an ebb and flow bucket system. Where the water is pumped in and out of the buckets back to the res. This guys trees must have been at least 6 feet tall. My idea for lights on this system would be 2 600's on a light mover to move them around the 6 foot room.

So in short the question at hand is with a 6 foot by 6 foot room that is about 7 feet tall would yield be larger with smaller amount of large trees or a a shitload of smaller ones in a vertical system?

Any ideas, pictures, or knowledge would be much appreciated so i can get this project started..

Thanks Much

If you can have 24 and its legit I would stay legit and grow those 24 plants as big as your room and growing conditions will allow.

The thing is I don't think 24 trees will fit in a 6 foot by 6 foot area. If I was going to do this style im sure i would prolly have to cut it down to like 12 plants.

If there is a design that will allow to get 24 big ladies into this area i would love to see it... Any ideas ?

How high are the ceelings? Can you take this 6x6 area and create 2 boxes on top of eachother? So you can then have 2 chambers. 24 plants total with your flowering section holding 6 nice plants and the big lights and your veg section will hold the remainder of these 24 (or as close to it as possible) plants including mother plants and cuttings being rooted.

What strain or strains will you be growing? Will they be pure sativas or indicas or crosses? A tall thin sativa doesn’t take up as much space as a shorter much bushier indica so right there you have either a chance to fit in more plants or less plants. Will you be topping your plants making them bushier and making each one need more space?

Also will you get a better yield from fewer plants that produce more per plant because they have the space and light to grow in than you will jamming in a bunch of plants and mainly just get good top colas and some decent buds below that and then a bunch of popcorn as you go farther down the plant?

Being able to grow 24 plants does not mean you have to grow 24 plants or will get a higher yield growing 24 plants instead of growing fewer and getting a higher production per plant out of them than you would each of the 24 plants if that means they have worse conditions to grow in.

Just think it all out and the answer will come to you. Factor in anything and everything and that will give you your answer.

Yah i have been considering a lot of these things. My Ceiling is about 7-8 feet tall so i am strongly considering the about 12 trees growing as big as they possible can inside the tent.

Since i am a person that likes to build my own hydro equipment... My question has anyone seen the National Geographic Explorer on Pot that showed that guys huge commercial grow with the buckets? Is this just an ebb and flow in bucket form? Has anyone else had success with this style like he did? And how does this system return the nute back to resvoir on the show it looks like the buckets are elevate a foot or so off the ground probably using gravity to get back to the res ?

For any of you that have not had the privelage to see this great documentary here is the clip that i am talking about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k73kmLC9wXM&feature=related

An Ebb and Flow set up uses 2 tanks, with 1 large 30 to 50 gal main tank for the neuts and then a smaller "brain" tank with a float switch that is on the floor lower than the pots. When the plants are being fed the pump will pump the water/nute sulotion to the plants. This then drains from growth medium and flows to the "brain" tank from which it will then be pumped back into the 50gal tank.

If your building it on your own then I would look into building a drip system especially if you have a lack of space. In a drip system your plants are sitting psyically above your neut tank. A pump will deliver the neut/water to the plants and gravity will be what refills the main tank.

There is also a 3rd choice, Areoponics where you useing Air as your grow medium. More complicated and to do right will require more gear but folks have still made there own with very nice results.

The simple quick and easy would be a drip system with a 50gal rubbermade tote as your nute tank. Yeah alot of people just love those Ebb & flows there are more factors involved and slightly higher chance for something to fail without a vast or even a clearly noticable yeld gain over the drip system. If it were my choice then money would be the deciding factor, with a cheap self made drip system if I were poor and the self made areoponic if I had extra cash in the mix.

Yah im also interesed in building a aeroponic system as well. I have seen a lot of people have had some impressive yields off them. I have been reading in high times about adding a fogponic has been super succesful because they dont have the clog issues that the misters get..
Anybody have any good aero systems theve seen built that grows some tall ass trees?

Check out the misters/system this guy built and posted on here. https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/147239-4-inch-tube-aero-chiller.html A ton of usefull info from someone that seems to have taken it to extreems!!
