Vegetative to flowering ???

so you say that even if you put ass many cfl as possible you wont get the same buds like a hps ?

I doubt that is the case but to have crop of equal quantity density and quality u would probably need a ridiculous ammount of cfls. Probably like 5 or six a medium plant.. Thats why alot of cfl growers keep em smal. It can be done but with alot more day to day positioning of lights and alot of care.. Personally i enjoy moving my plants and lights around each night but i can definitely see me getting an hps for flowering in the future, its just more practical

nothing beats a big HPS (except the sun) for flowering, and then, it gets even better if you add metal halide with it for full light spectrum.
i dont know the whole on lighting, but i do know that a good rule of thumb is at least 5000 lumens per cubic foot of grow space. those florescent tubes are good for seedlings and clones, but for vegetative growth and blooming you'll at least need two 42w CFL per plant, and thats asumming you start 12/12 at 6", otherwise the cfl just doesnt have the penetration compared to HID lighting

Like everyone has said you definitely want to step up the amount of light in your garden. If your cash is strapped you should look in CFLs which are compact florescent lights. That wont give you the best bud by any means but is sounds like your a beginning grower, and it will give you experience at a cheap price. If i where you I would spend a lot of time on the internet reading i know reading isn't fun but if you smoke while you do it it make it far more entertaining.

i did a lot of research and not only on internet. Thats why i say that 5000 lumens per plant I agree, should be enough for flower. I'll try this time to flower with 3 growing fluorescent and 10-12 CFL (1600 lumens each). So I should have around 15 000 lumens in this preatty small closet. I understand that is not enough for the perfect buds, but ill tray to see the difference.

everybody says that u need 2500 lumens per square feet. What if u have more????
every one does not say you need 2500 lumens per square foot, the ideal amount, is 7000 to 10000 lumens per square foot, the more the merrier, but no less than 3000 lumens per square foot.

I have only cfl s, but I have around 4000 lumens per square foot. That should be enough ... I think, right?

Another question that I have is why is this plant so bushy???? everywhere I look at pics with plants I see a big long steam and few braces and few leaves. My plant has ... kinda tones of theme. should I just leave them like that? I attached some recent pics so you can see.

Thanks to everyone for the thoughts !

your plants look nice.reason some plants look different, probably the strain, and, or a lot of growers trim and train their plants to get more bud sites, and to make sure those bud sites are not being shaded by bigger fan leaves.
also, you want to open up the bottom of your plant to increase air flow there.

4000 lumens per square foot of cfl is a bit low if thats what your flowering with. i would try to get some bigger cfls, or maybe look into a small HPS.

A low wattage HPS will increase lumens but mainly only for the upper portion of the plants due to lack of light penetration.

If someone is going to upgrade their lighting from an inadequate CFL to HPS lighting they should be sure to get something with enough light penetration and area coverage capabilities to do the entire job or else the lower portions of the plants will not benefit from the additional lighting.

it's only 2 plants in that small cab. not enough head space for big HPS, unless you got a cooled reflector. but thats money right there. look at htg supply, you can find a nice small hps ready to plug in for relatively cheap
