had a lump pop up around my new baby's groin area last night... after researching it all night, the doctor confirmed my fears today... poor lil guy has an inguinal hernia and has to have surgery within the next month or so..

i know that there is nothing that we can/could do to prevent/fix this for him, but i (we) still cant help feeling like we failed him in some way... on the bright side, it is a fairly safe and simple procedure, but still a full out surgery none the less.... anyone else have any medical issues with your children???

Sorry to hear that man,hopefully quick and fairly easy,considering some complex surgery's,keyhole surgery will sort it right out,best of luck with it all and dont forget that there is nothing you could of done to prevent this

doc said he wants to do it asap... so we are scheduled for fri. morning.... he's gonna go ahead and put his testes in the sac as well.... it outpatient though, so he will be coming home.

it is minor, but i've never been put under for any surgery; neither has my wife... its kinda scary....

its only 9:00... if i try to lay down now, i'll just stare at the wall and feel retarded... still have 2hrs

I will be thinking of you guys. Vette's daughter had surgery last year and that freaked him out too.... just the idea of her being "under". She is doing well.... as your little "...." the name we do not mention...will be. He will handle it better than the both of you put together.

Keep the faith and focus on your other/better half. You guys need each other right now.

By the way.. he is so handsome.... all the nurses will be falling all over him and his big brother.

exactly... the 'under' part bugs me... and i wanted to be in the OR during... they wont allow... just wanted them to be aware that someone is there watching their asses... better do their damn job...

you can be in the room for a c-section; which is fairly serious comparatively.. and camera crews in all kinds of major surgery in the name of "entertainment".... but i cant make sure they are doing the best with my newborn... wtf is that??

Trust me.... as much as you want to be protective.... I don't think you want to be there to watch. I could never watch someone doing things to a child.... even if it were for the best. Operations are not pretty.

Take the time to breathe..... it will feel like forever until he gets out... but you will be fine. Lots of hugs, pacing...... and prayers.

It is a little messed up about being in for the c-section and not this.... but I think they know what they are doing. It is for your own good..... as messed up as it is.

Please just let us know.... I am taking some kids from my school snow tubing tomorrow. Will be home 8:30 EST. You will be the first thing I check for. Can't wait for some good news.

things like these are one of the many reasons my wife is pursuing a law degree... i'll get some sleep; gotta drive... and will definately put you up to date as soon as we get home
