The cost of GROWING or BUYING

I have a few plants growing right now they are about a week old under a 32 watt CFL. I just bought a $30 metal halide 250w. And put in a yeast sugar water CO2 dispenser. Is it worth a $50-150 investment to get the ballast
. I live in a house with 3 ppl and they dont know its in the house. Is it worth getting all this shit???

I spend about 460.00 a month on weed, or at least I used to. It's immensely cheaper to grow and the better the light the better off you are. You shouldn't grow without everyone's permission it's not cool, they will get in trouble just like you. I hope to god it's not your parents house if so take it outside.

You can get a 600 watt digital ballast that used hps and mh bulbs for $119 new with warranty.These use 3- percent less power and give off 25-30 percent more light.Thats about $40 a month to run it 24 hours a day or $25 bucks a month to run 12 hours a month for flower.The cfl you got is useless

You bought a 250W MH bulb and you don't have a ballast? It will be useless. FF is right but if cost is an issue, you can go all the way with CFLs but you will need lots more than one and you won't end up with the higrade bud. You'll get smokable bud but the yield won't be as much and your buds won't be nice and thick.

FF, I don't know where you are finding a new digi 600w switchable ballast so cheap. They run over $200 brand new.

ok fine Maryland Hydroponics its the mh600 digital ballast.He has them on the site direct buy for $119 I bought 2 from him via ebay for $112 each and $20 shipping priority mail

To address his original point of how much you can save, it depends on how much you smoke and if you will smoke all you grow or sell any (not recommended if you enjoy freedom and not being a man-bitch to Bubba). My last grow, I think I spent about $275-$300. I usually pay $120 for 1/4 oz higrade. Although my harvest was not higrade, it was still pretty good and we netted roughly 4oz. Sooooo...in reality, I saved myself about $180 at least on my last grow. This one, I am up to about $500 and am shooting for 10-12 oz total. I will grow until I have that much stockpiled. 10 oz = $1200. So, for $500, time and stress, I get to smoke $1200 worth.
