you want to use black abs plastic, the light does not reflect off the black surface...and yes a 90 is involved to help cut the light...
You can get smaller rolls of flexible ducting in 4"-8" diameters at home improvement stores.
no..not the roll, its the black tubing found in the plumbing or garden section of home depot(varies from location to location) but it comes in sizes rznging from 2" in diameter to i believe 6" in diameter....Is it like the giant 50' rolls at home improvement stores? Is it like a tube?
thats a really inefficient design...all those sharp 90s will really reduce airflow and create the need to run a bigger blower and fan that is needed for the space resulting in overpaying for the fan itself and the power to run it..he was talking about actual pipe, I believe...
Take a look at this, it may help... and it could be used passive or active... in or out...
A stiff cardboard or plywood box should suffice...

Bends are going to be required no matter what...thats a really inefficient design...all those sharp 90s will really reduce airflow and create the need to run a bigger blower and fan that is needed for the space resulting in overpaying for the fan itself and the power to run it..
of course bends are required...however the less drastic the bend and limited number in them will help the air pass through a whole lot easier...its not opinion its physics....Bends are going to be required no matter what...
If you really feel one 90 degree bend is enough, you could build a box with just one turn...
The box design works... but no one has to use it just because it works for me...
Hey.. what can I say...? Go with what you know...
Cheers...
if you are going going with a passive then the abs 90 will be enough...and that box is a bigger job to build than what it is worth...its the same concept of a muffler, the more blockage you put up the restriction there is..with your ventilation flow you want as little restriction as possible....Have a passive hole no blower for the intake just the exhaust that is for the carbon filter.. the box seems like a job to me... thanks though...
you can buy the 90 fiting pre bent..its preformed drainage plastic...just like pvc fittings only larger and black....i position it in the intake so the fiting is on the outside of the growspace with the opening angled down to the floor and put a nylon over the opening to keep creepy crawlys from climbing on in my box...So I get the black Abs tubing then exactly! what do you do. Obviously you put one end in the hole but how do you accomplish the 90's with it?kiss-ass
Oh sure... but the box works...of course bends are required...however the less drastic the bend and limited number in them will help the air pass through a whole lot easier...its not opinion its physics....
Al left drawings, plans, pictures and a wealth of information... so we could use them and help spread his knowledge, even if he is not here...btw are you alb and changed your av and name or just trying to pass his designs off as your own?
if i knew that i would not have asked......buy the way you had his ops linked to your sig one would think you were either him incognito or someone thats just piggybacking on his ideas and designs...i guess the latter is true...Oh sure... but the box works...

I am a FUCTHEAD and very proud of it...
Kinda rude of you... you know I am not Al.. so what are you saying about me?
oh well... whatever...
...one would think you were... someone thats just piggybacking on his ideas and designs...
i guess ... is true...
