Botanicare Silica Blast?

I use it. In both soil and hydro I use 1 tsp/gallon.

Does it help? Anything I said would be a guess just because I've never done a side-by-side grow with and without it. I've had some very successful grows and this has been a part of my feeding so I stick with using it.

This is exactly how I feel about it. I've always used this product with great success.

Yeah, I wish I could be less wishy-washy and say the stuff rocks, but we already get so much of that when people just don't really know.

I like Botanicare, I don't feel like they are always trying to up-sell me on 43 different things - Iguana this and Cheetah that and Voodoo Juice the other thing. So if Botanicare recommends I use some Silica I tend to start from the belief it it is true until I see/hear otherwise.

My current mix is:

Botanicare Pro Grow/Pro Bloom depending on if I'm in Veg or Flower.
Botanicare Liquid Karma
Botanicare Sweet
Botanicare Cal-Mag
Botanicare Silica Blast
Hygrozyme

And some Clearex as needed.

ive been using SilikaMajic from flairform, and ive noticed super thick branches for a short plant. and from what i read thats what its supposed to do.
==========
Why is silica so important for your plants?

Various research projects conducted over the past 40 years (coupled with regular feedback from users of SilikaMajic) have shown that the presence of silica (SiO2) in plant tissue produces many beneficial side effects:

+ Increased stem strength and rigidity - once silica is taken up by the roots, it is deposited in the plant’s cell walls as a solid silica matrix equivalent to quartz. This structure produces stronger and more rigid cell walls and hence a ‘mechanically’ stronger plant. This enables better leaf orientation for receiving light which in turn enhances photosynthesis and growth rates.

+ Improved healing of pruning wounds - silica enables pruning wounds to heal more quickly and neatly. This property is especially beneficial in commercial cropping of plants such as tomato and cucumber where regular pruning threatens the plant's survival.

+ Increased fruit weight - accumulation of silica in plant cells can result in higher fruit weight.

+ Increased leaf strength - improved resistance to wilting, particularly noticeable during hot weather.

+ Increased tolerance to high salinity - silica has been shown to reduce problems arising from nutrient toxicity (e.g. sodium, chloride) and/or imbalance.

That's exactly what I've been using ... and my grows are better than ever! The hydro store ran out of Hygrozyme, so I used the Silica Blast instead. Didn't notice any difference ... still produced nice tight buds that were dripping with crystals.
