What if I made seperated chamber for my light and for my plant and seperated them with a sheet of Plexi Glass...It would keep the heat away from the plant in theory right?
Just A Thought.

hey dees... yah I think it could work but glass is a crappy insulator. Just stand next to a window in winter

Thanks CrackerJax...I have so many ideas on a new grow cabinet...You see I have a balcony that I built a Stealth Box on that is about 5' tall 3' wide and about 2 1/2' deep...And I have a new 400w MH/HPS light with reflector...Im more worried and dust getting on the light..I have an a/c unit cooling the Box off in the summer...Any Ideas?

Well I am an outdoor grower, but if you don't have to worry about runaway temps because of the a/c unit...the glass should give you the dust protection you need. Has this been a problem or something you have noticed before? Dust build up?
I turned off my desk lamp from which I installed a new bulb about a month ago... your post made me check it... Hard to find any dust on it....whew!!

I noticed some dust on my bulbs from my last grow...I just want to make sure i dont ruin my new lights...The Are HID...Dust can cause HID Bulbs to burn out quicker...Well I am an outdoor grower, but if you don't have to worry about runaway temps because of the a/c unit...the glass should give you the dust protection you need. both my boxes are seperated by plexy. dont get the uv block plexy or if you cant spend the cash for hobby grade plex double up the cheap stuff.
