what is the benefit of vegging indoors before transplanting outside?

Good attitude, this is what I like to see in the community, knowledgeable people not afraid to help out others, especially newbs.

The space thing might be an issue, I've got the cellar I could work with, but I don't want to have to do that since I live with others. Not a big deal, but mold, light leaks and pests could be easier to come by down there.

Plus it's colder.
Air purifier , dehumidifier to help clean the air and control the humid %. You can use a spray mixture of

1L of water
1 sliver of sope
1 small peace of garlic

mix , mist onto plant leafs. Clean leafs off with clean water to help treat / keep the bugs away or to kill most bugs.:leaf:

and if you wanted to you could use the heat from your lights to help warm up the basement a bit. When I get my room setup right I will be using PS fans to take the hot air away from the lights and put it into my room. have a custom PC fan box to take in the hot/warm air have a PC fan take fresh cooler air from out side (winter time) mix it with the warm/hot air to cool the air down then vent it back into my room

they all work sorry but i got really stoned and confused lol

so your going indoor/outdoor method?? not just starting them in the kit to be put out to veg as a head start....

the only things ya gotta remember is the longer they get to veg in the kitt the bigger theyl get when put out...... and the only time yya cant ut them out is when the days are getting close to your longest day really.... well i knolw this is th case for ozzies..... like i said 1 time a year we cant do this really and its a small gap :)

once used to it you will see the benefits behind this too :)

remember itys not that much different to using a kit to bud your... meaning flower room is the world :) look at it that way..

also closure there is none i think your wrong... i dont dfully understand what you mean and sorry to say it seems wrong. by the sounds of it your going to put them outside at the same time and this will fix there floering time differance... it wont.

or it sounds like you want to try keep em level this too wont work.... flip em around and youll come close but you still wont be there.

sorry i just dont know what you mean and dont wanna give you wrong info:eyesmoke:

lol ok here it is broken down:

- start indoors under CFLs or HID till seedlings turn to vegetative
- stick them outdoors at vegetative stage (about 2 months max)

The purpose for this is to give them a headstart and create a solid stem/root structure. Plus it'll give me bigger buds when outdoors :)

NOW - my problem was the outdoor 12/12 cycle around when I want to put them out. I don't want them flowering too early and in July they're ready to harvest.

My solution was starting the sativas (longer flowering) first, then when I transplant those outdoors I can start the indicas.

This will let the long flowering stage of the sativas end before the last frost (mid October in the northern hemisphere). At the same time, this will also give me space in my closet for when the indicas get started a month ahead.

I don't know, I could just be over thinking it. I still don't know what to do.

I'll probably veg both strains inside seperately and then move them outdoors when I want to start flowering.

starting them indoors helps because after they get around two feet or so they get really bitter, and animals dont want to eat them as much. that was my problem last year, it was my first grow and i didnt know about deer eating them, so my plant got ate like 2 weeks into the season

to mcgreenstein with a name like that id think you should know better.... most people either start in a kit or do the indoor/outdoor method. plants have a way better sucess rate when given a head start.... it was also said earlier in thi thread..

so id disreguerd that last comment rakencallisto :)...

no the dew wont keep it wet enough when put outside they are in a constant fight for territoiry and light.. there are thousands of other established plants....

if your putting them out the bush and see razorgrass growin its a good indicator of moist ground..

it all depends where you put them..... ie a swamp requires the least effort waters already there just visit and give nutes :) youll have too suss that out for yourself and chioose the spot wisely for one visit a week during hot wether....

but yes if the spots good enough amd the soils generally ok and got moisture from undergroud water springs and shit then yeah once a week or so can be achieved.... but id say to be safe youd want to visit twice a week..... a decent plant will be more self sifficient tho :)

to rakuencsllisto

youll be right as long as the lights hours arent too much greater than when you put them out.....

you just wanna give them a headstart put them out in low hours when there not normally growing to get the most out of its veg time landing you with something like 5 months before your plants will veg right....

if thats the case or your just giving them a headstart like i said just make the light match what your going t be putting it into so it will keep vegging and everything should be cheap..

i think im up to pace now sorry about that

It may vary from where you live but in florida there is no need to veg indoor. you can plant a seed in late april and raise a strong high yeilding plant(lb per plant). Good soil, Good nutes,Direct sunlight, and TLC and you can grow a monster of fire!

plants wont start to flower outdoors until the natural light cycle is or resembles 12/12 until then it will veg. unless o course its an autoflower strain

dude..florida'as avergae is 13 hours of daylight..and it only lowers from there..do you think13/11 will still make the lil, fuckers flower????

randomkindness has a good idea but a plant wont bud just because you put it outside the days must be short enough so if you stay inside til late summer maybe but they will veg in the spring until the days get shorter so the benefits are mainly the strenth and the billions of unreplicatable luminates from the sun

theres no need where i live too but its still my preffered grow method..

and by the sounds of it itd be even more my favourite in florida. veg during winter put outside as days get longer and bud next season simple as that and ma plant would be way bigger as to having the extra veg time.....

in my opinion/experience putting the germed seedling directly in ff ocean forest soil outside in a cup works everytime then when it gets to about 6-7 inches i transplant into a 3 -5 gallon pot and i think this makes for a stronger plant cuz its outside its whole life and no indoor to outdoor stress and if u transplant properly there will be no transplant stress either ive had seedlings survive 30 -40 degree nights so they are tough plants
