Beginner DWC/bubbleponics system- did i transplant right? I need advise.Please!

I just pulled my babies out of AG200 and could not believe the entanglement of the roots. WOW! So i pulled the sponge away the nicest and best way i could from roots, so that no root rot could develop(i hope). I also tied the base of all them to a bamboo stick for help w/ stability. I then placed the stalk as low as i could in 3.75" net pots and guided the roots through a hole that I had to cut in each. I also rinsed the hydroton balls a bunch. I have two airstones and pumps bubbling up that water. I noticed that 4-5 roots already extend to water.
Where should my water line be at. Right now I have about a 1/4 tank of water. 8-12" from net pots.....

I have been spraying the roots w/ a water bottle(ph 6, ppm 1000), every so often. so that they don't dry out...

Give me some advice if you will, I'm a newbie experimenting and I know that this could be my turning point. Live or Die!

Im pretty new at this also but it seems like the rule of thumb is about 1" below net pots

True. Then watch them take off from having their roots directly in the nutrient water. I suggest adjusting your ph to 5.6 to 5.8, nutrient ppm at 500 to 600 by the looks of the age of your plants and increase it weekly, and keep the air stones going.

the water in dwc can go all the way up to the top of your net pots..as long as u have enough aeration you will not drown the roots...fill your water up to the bottom of the netpots.

Also, get a small fan to circulate the air in your cabinet. They'll love you for it.

I have a fan, to the right. a 14" desk fan on low. it works well but has a damn humm to it.. It pisses me off.

O.K. I think I messed up. So for the past 24 hrs, ever since the transplant. I had the water level really low about 1/4 of tank full. Longer developed Roots barely touched water for bigger guys. Then, after reading your wonderful responses today. I filled the res. up to about 3-6" below net pots. Should I go any higher, now that the roots are submerged about 2/3's the way?
p.h. @ 6-6.5, will lower soon.
ppm @ 500-1000

i dont think that those are pistils. sorry. it looks like the newest leaf growth. it looks slightly burned. how close are your lights?? you shouldnt start seeing sex until at least a week into 12/12.

You're right. I keep thinking I'm gonna see white hairs. And havent yet. I hooked up 2 26w=130w 10.0 uvb reptile lamps up and burnt the shit out of them about two weeks ago. Somebody told me that Reptile lamps can help produce a growth spurt or atleast provide a different light spectrum to help... Not Burn. Damnit!

I just read into a single nod fogger on ebay for 29.99. Misting the roots at an ultimate level- I heard it's the best way for roots to adhere to water.

Get that PH down to 5.5-5.8, you need it lower in hydro than you do in soil.

OK COOL, YOU SHOULD HAVE FUN, BUT DAMN IS IT FRUSTRATING AT TIMES.... I feel like I spent to much money on stuff from HD/Lowes/hydro shop/e-bay/craigslist. I browse the net for deals constantly... Guess thats what I do now when i get High.., If u got questions just hit me up....

yo get a 1/2" rubber gromet from local hydro shop and 1/2" spout for side drainage. I had a leaky ass airline going through lots of glue for a seal... That didn't work, so don't try it, and don't Use liquid Nails to adhere a long ass air stone from Wal-mart to the bottom of container. That didn't work either and ended up floatin around getting that glue shit in my nutrient water. Damn glad thats gone forever.... I used that other bin while in construction....

I'm finally done with my DWC machine, and it was a definate headache, but damn am I kinda proud now... even the bro was surprised haha......

picked up this single node Reptile fogger from petsmart, it was pricey @ $50.00 but is working like a charm. I hope it helps stimulate the roots and really get these widows taking off! I heard about it helping w/ water adhering to roots in a micro fibular way! pretty trippy cool....

I have some interesting root growth. that fogger is the shizzit.... found some lights to flower under...they were a good price...

don't feel the need to keep this bad boy going if nobody is really diggin it... i guess I'm kinda burnt on documenting my project....?

Oh yeah, and if you want to set up another system you can find those foggers at home improvement stores for about $30 last time I checked. I just haven't pulled the trigger on it yet.

Diggity... I would have to say that the fogger definitely helped my transplant recovery out big time. I had root's that were drying out in my tub, the one's closest to the net pots. The core of my plant was dieing. Then I got the fogger. It pushed water micros, through the hydroton and pretty much watered the roots throughout with 100% humidity. I now have white roots throughout again, like i Did in AG 200 at first... I now switched to 12/12. wish me a lucky lady....

Hoping for a lady for you.

I've used a fogger off and on over the last 5 years, but only for giving heat and moisture to seedlings/clones that haven't formed enough roots to reach the res. It's worked pretty well for that purpose. Then after the roots hit the water, I transplant them to a dwc for veg and then into Hydrofarms for flowering.

I've never completed a grow with only the fogger though. The fogger heats up the res and increases your risk of over heating and root rot and disease. I've had that happen several times in the past if you use the fogger too long into veg or flower.
