Does a dwc need circulation?

I have been having these issues for over a year now and cannot figure it out. in my past posts it explains it all. This burning you see is the burning i get every grow. i am using a sunleaves sda560 air pump with 6 stones in the tub with the big girls. so heres the question.

Does anyone have a pump to citculate or move water in the tub? and what do you run your ppm at? and on what scale are you using? my water is 5.8ph, 800ppm grow/micro. water temp is 71f, air temp 77f. i have tried everything else including moving.

My ph went to below 6 and i got some burning like that. get the ph to maybe 6.3 and circulation will not help if you have plenty of airstones which you do. circulating water does dissolve oxygen but chances are you have a lid over the res so no fresh air can get in. It won't help that much and prob would stress the roots. up the ph a little. i think your plant is blocking out nutes. good luck.

Ok, first question... are you using unfiltered tap water?

yes and honestly i don't do anything to it. its 6.4ph out of the tap. Let me know if you need anything else. sorry i do not know my ppm but i mix Dutch Nutrient Formula veg and bloom when there ready and simply mix to specifications. 1 thing to try would be to just add another pump. it wont hurt the plant or cost you much and if that doesn't solve it its something deeper. Did you try upping your ph? when my ph reaches 5.7 or so my plants burn a little.

OK, you're running hydro, you have to keep the ph LOWER than you do with soil.

Pull that ph down to between 5.5 and 5.8.

Beyond that, you are experiencing a Magnesium deficiency caused by high levels of calcium in tap water. Add one teaspoon of epsom salt per gallon of water to your nutrient mix. You can find it in the grocery store in the pharmacy section, and it's less than $2, so no excuses!

What above said also sounds right but my plants for some reason burn at 5.7. It def is some sort of defficiency i would say. But adding oxygen with another pump is what i would try first just to not hurt the plant.

Your plants are burning at the proper ph level because you are overfeeding them.

When your ph is at higher levels, the rate at which the plants can uptake nutrients is affected.

yup. but the hydro store i go to. its trustworthy advice there, said that most plants including mj will uptake nutrients to about ph 7 and then drastically slow. she said 6.3 would be perfect because 5.5 is pretty acidic and may burn plants. every .2 is double the acid or 10 times the acid?

Look, I'm going on what has PROVEN to work for me.

Yes, it will still uptake nutrients at a higher ph level, but not at the right concentrations, causing deficiencies with some nutrients and over feeding of others.

I have tried tap water and water through a RO. I guess ill try to lower the ph down a bit and see what happens.

You shouldnt listen to that person anymore. 7 is for soil grows and 5.5-6 is for hydro end of story. Plants dont burn from acidic ph, they burn from to much nutrients, a common mistake by most growers. If the ph were to low for the plants them they wouldnt be able to absorb nutrients so they would have defieciencies, the complete opposite of what you were told.

Pour vinigar on your plants and watch it eat it away. vinigar is what ph 3? never mind it just won't soak it up. crazy!! plants don't have a set ph level. different stages of their life require dif ph levels. dif nutrients are absorbed at diff levels as the ph changes. besides who said anything about 7? don't put words in my mouth. i simply gave an answer. and it was 6.3. Doesn't matter to me my plants aren't the ones dying. think i'll sit back and blow an ounce off the last 22 i got friday. Hope your dying plant turns around. lol. hmmm my plants look pretty healthy for 6.3 ph. they must be dieing though if you say so. have fun smokin your pinner dubes your going to get off your weak ass plant.

Why would anyone pour vinegar, or nutrient solution on the plants? It's for the roots, genius.

If 6.3 is working for you, do it. However, I challenge you to post a thread on what the proper ph is for hydro/aero/dwc and see what answers you get.

Genetics will determine your PH. You cannot make assumptions based on generalities. You need to adapt the system to the plant when it tells you to. However, I disagree with going above 6.0. Many nutrients cannot be utilized at this level. Recirculating will probably not fix the problem, but it will provide some benefit in dissolved 02 and a more consistent mix. It will not hurt your roots, but running a pump will add heat to the reservoir.

hahai heard inbetween 6 and 7 does the trick if their burning then your probly fertilizing while its to hot. cheak you res temps. out door has the same problems. organic fertilizers are the best. every body thinks there weeds bomb but how good is it really? high flovor. wieght? i grow buds with massive bud pods and some times small bud pods. i would smoke my weed over ne bodys weed. out door organic 2 lb plants cured to a sticky earthy sweet and sour bat guana sonic bloom. beautiful strong stalks some 3 inch around. haha thats the shit i baby those fuckers. key thing to do is do nood over fertilize . just feed your kids when their hungery. i use super thrive or b1 all year long besides sprouting. seabird gauno 4 veg. bionticare sweet. bat guana high phosphor tiger bloom and humbolts sonic bloom. dyno gro bloom burst.i even got robbed haha well they didnt get them all!!!!!. i grown indoor once and got some preety good hermaphadite weed. lol . im on my way to my next grow and its going to be nice if i dont get robbed . i heard 2000 ppm is good. i heard that if you sift the white powder of the ashes in your wood buring stove makes ph up is this true?

fyi its preety natrual for leaves to turn yellow when its budding. you might not be watering enough if your using dirt. the buds end up draining the energy from the leaves depending on strain
