Hey guys/gals its been a while since i updated, and with good reason.. I still have the shitty camera and i hate taking shitty bud pics so ill keep it short and sweet! Here are a couple shots just so u guys believe my plants are still alive and well lol :hump:

All three pics are just random garden views.

And no pics of the clones right now but i got 10 out of 12 rooted and transplanted but 2 seem like they wont make it.. Also i guess i have amazing luck because one of the plants in the flower area just started shooting out hairs and they are straight pink! My camera couldnt get close enough but when its a little bigger ill have some pics... Also 3 of the clones are from this plant so i should have a colorful next batch!:hump::joint:bongsmilie

Looks great man, u say they get ugly and brown? uglier and more brown than normal white hairs? I was thinking of keeping the pink clone as a mother.

Im pretty sure im just gonna clone the hell outta that strain and have that as my main strain, its just cool to look at when its growing and immagine an entire pink garden! Id be a bad mother fucker with a garden liike that.:blsmoke::bigjoint::rolleyes::rolleyes:

NICE!!!! I remember that from your journal when i first signed up, u had a pic with a bunch of pil bottles full of seeds! Mine came from bagseed but strangely out of the like 40 somethin seeds i started out with only one was pink?? I dont know how that happened but im not complaining ! Did u polinate the pink to get seeds to send out or what?

yes and no... i still get the same bag weed so i keep gettin more seeds ! but mine did get polinated a lil so some bottom buds grew seeds i call them 2nd gen barbwire :) i didnt get the males out fast enough:( but not really a prob just some more free seeds!

Yeah not a problem at all.... I think most people(at least i would) Would be happy with a few seeds like that....

I havent yet messed around with breeding, if i had some pollen from a lemon skunk plant and i were to polinate one of the pink clones, do u think it would retain the pink qualities?

just like an oreo baby you never know if it gets the straight blonde hair or the nappy curls???? genetics are powerful things:)

Lol well put.... Im probably gonna try it anyway.. Im only growing bagseed right now so crossing a lemon skunk and the pink should be a little better anyway??? At least the way i see it. The Lemon skunk pollin is like a year old but theres a couple grams of it so some should be good..

Lol this is a powerfull hobby.... Just 3 months ago i was researching the best way to germinate a seed now im growing clones and planning on breeding. I LOVE IT!

MURDER long time no see.!! I've been offline.

My second crop is well under way, with lemon skunks in there. :bigjoint:

I have left the old CFL's behind and upgraded the flower room with 400W Hps. I'm SOOOO HAPPY!! I've made many sucessful clones so far, and by FLUKE chance, one of my prise females, "HOLLANDS HOPE" Devoloped 9 male flowers. I collected the Hermie pollen, and intend on useing it to cross with my lemons. I heard that to make feminized seeds you need hermie pollen. Have you come across this?

fem seeds are treated with chemicals to make them fem. herm seeds have mutant traits but might be more fem than normal but you run a high risk of just growing out more fems:( the reason fem seeds are so expensive is because of the years of research and work in the lab that goes into perfecting the genetics! there are quite a few great threads on here about it best way to get info is google:) i think its call the process of https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/154806-feminizing-seeds-rodelization-method.html here is a link read up !
hope that helps

Hey Sgt. Long time no see indeed! glad to hear about your next crop!! SO how doews that hps stack up to the cfls? Have u noticed faster growth under the hps??? Before i came on this site it wsa my understanding that hermie=fem seeds but it seems that genetic hermies are not the ones were after. I guess they force the plant to hermie with chemicals, I really dont see the difference but thats what they say.. I still think its worth a try, the pollen im working with to make seeds is from a lemon skunk hermie and im gonna try to cross it with some pink indica i found among my plants hopefully something cool willl happen:-P

My research is confirmed. You're partially right about the hermie thing. You don't really wan't genetic hermies, but rather a female FORCED to produce male flowers, IE: Stressing the plant.....OR Letting it flower weeks after it's ready for harvest. In either case Mine Produced Male flowers from being forced to some how. There are a few situations i experienced throughout the grow that could have led to that happening.

As far as the HPS system goes.....HUGE improvement hands down. I'm still in the same closet, I'm not haveing ANY heat issues. The HPS produces a lot more heat, but when you add up all the heat from those 42w and higher CFL's I think the heat management issues are realitivly compareable. I have also learned a lot about why HPS does so much better. As an experiment, i replaced 4, 42w CFL's with 1, 70w HPS. The difference in the way the plants could all share the same light was amazing. HPS light seems to penetrate deeper. I would recoment ALL CFL growers, to try out the 70w and/or 150w HPS units if you can find them. They are not a heat threat and they have great results. After seeing what 70w HPS could do, i hunted down a 400w HPS system for $200. I have used it to replace EVERYTHING in the closet. And I am only drawing about 100w more in electricity than i was with all my CFL's.

Learning to grow with CFL's first is GREAT EXPERIENCE for newbies. It almost forces you to pay closer attention to your plants, and good crops ARE attainable, as many and myself have been proving. But NOW that I've learned much morn than basics from the first grow, now it's time to start finessing the grows and make things more efficent. CFL growers may SWEAR by their Bulbs, but the science and proof is in the pudding for me. Flowering with HPS is hands down the best way to go. I still believe Veging with those 6500k CFL's first is PRIME.

Before i forget, remember how u asked me about knuckling? I tried it and it did not work well for me

Sounds great man , CFLS definitely do require you to pay closer attention to your plants.. With all the personal care i have given these plants i was expecting something a little more......... Not saying that the cfl grow is going badly but i feel like i could have acheived much more with an HPS already. Im right with u on the fact that CFLS are great for vegging and beginners but i feel my skills have alredy left the realm of CFLS.

Is your HPS air cooled?

Now the 70w hps u speak of? Do u mean like the security lights that u buy at hd or lowes?? WHen u used the 70w how much square footage did u cover with one??

AND TO anyone reading this i have not given up on cfls, i will still complete this grow with them but im not gonna lie ive been saving up for an hps already:bigjoint:

Thatta boy!!! Yea the security lights. Work great for small grows. Expensive setup tho for just 70 watts. I got a refund on mine after useing it for a few months though. Cuz of my upgrade.
