Roots surfacing

Whenever I water my plant it tends to show the top roots and I've just been recovering it every time. Are these roots okay to keep surfaced or should I continue covering every time? Is this common or did I not plant it deep enough? THanks

not enough plant room sounds like, of course I cannot see the plants so no real clue until you upload some pics.

Might need a bigger pot.But keep the light off of the roots for sure.

it's in a 5gal bucket so im sure it has enough room...

if you can, just add another inch or two of soil/gravel/sand.. if you just recover with existing soil you will be doing that every watering. add an inch of soil you shouldnt have to mess with it anymore.
