I made a box for my 18 Gallon Rubbermaid Roughneck container for hydro and thought dang this came out nice... thought I'd make a jpeg instruction sheet... Anyways...

Well nope no tops or bottoms, I keep my boxes on a wood platform that allows overflow to seep into a bin. You can toss whatever lighting you come up with in there, I'll have another guide sometime later on how to make easy CFL fixtures to fit the box. But really it's plenty easy to toss a cooled reflector in there and a sheet of mylar makes a good top.

You take one side and tape it, pull it tight and attach the other end, keeps it tight enough for me.

What about gluing the Mylar to the walls? I notice most people's Mylar is wavey gravey.
The best way to lay Mylar is this: roll it out onto a hard flat surface like a hardwood floor outside down, and spray some spray-adhesive on the back of the Mylar and the surface (wood, etc.) and lay it on the Mylar. I'm a little baked and on my iPhone so that might not make sense.

Tape, even with a hole in the middle, will look like this. Granted it's not mirror finish but it's still damn good. Actually it is kinda mirror finish, the back panel quite accurately reflects the side.

The lower nodes that would make popcorn buds are trimmed off, I keep the fan leaves so the rest of the plant can benefit off them

NOT BAD, whats the final dimensions of the box? im considering making a DIY box that would give me more height, i used cfls like you and switched to a HPS, the lower nodes defiantly get more light, but those LOOK GREAT!

26x22.5x48" approximately. And I'd love to have a HPS too, but I'm stingy as hell with my $ and I'm doin okay on CFL for now... prolly HPS it next winter regardless though, plus I'll be working in a 36x36x72 box then.
