Keep plants watered for a week?

I just realized I'll be going out of town for 5-7 days 2 months into the grow and have no way to look after the plants. How should I keep them wet? They're soil.

I know that I'll put a tone of glasses of water in the cabinet to keep the humidity up. But I don't think this will be enough.

Thats something to worry about. I was following another thread and the owner had to leave for 4 days and was in mid flower. He soaked the plants before he left and when he came back, he found a lot of dead leaves and dry buds that were dead. Maybe one of those stupid water bulb things from the TV ads that they sell at Wal Mart.

rig up a drip irrigation system....



grab a rubbermaid tote, fill with ph corrected water(dilute nutrients to about 50% of normal), place an aquarium powerhead (pump) in there, connect to tubing w/ holes in it, run tubing to base of plants.......put the pump on a timer, run pump a couple times a day....problem solved.


20 or so dollars will save you alot of hassle (and lost bud weight)....jmo.

i cant remember which journal i saw this in but some dude used aqua globes while he was out of town for a week and apparently he came back to plants that were doing just great.

transplant to a larger pot before leaving or just fill up a large drainage dish with water and the soil will wick it up when needed.
I was able to leave my plants for 12 days using the drainage dish, when I transplanted from a 16 ounce cup to a 3 gallon pot I didn't have to water for 2 and a half weeks.

I think I'll go with aqua globes. Think they'll last for 7 days?

Transplant day before you leave, Raise the lights higher, saran wrap over the tops of the plants. let them sit in a try that will contain your runoff.

Left plants for 9-10 days using this method.

Take a simple water bottle and bury it upside down in soil. Hmmmm sounds like something I seen on T.V.

try a wick system too, braided rope (not nylon) one end into the bottom of you container the other end into a gallon milk jug the plant will wick water out of the gallon jug
