I live in Ventura County and we don't have a dispensary yet. I have to go to LA

You guys all rock! Thank you so much for contributing. It sounds like you should have no problem getting "reimbursed for your expenses". I guess I'll just walk in to my favorite dispensary and give them a free sample of the dank I'm growing and let them know I have plenty of extra if any other patients want any, that might be all that it takes.
Now, lets talk about how to stay out of jail! I know 100 plants has a federal 5 year mandatory, will you stay out of jail for anything less than that in any part of the state of CA? I want to be in Sonoma or the bay area, BTW...

wtf...you have the best disp. of all so.cal..sherman oaks, canoga park and surrounding areas have the chronic.
starting one is alot of yellow tape and hoops to jump through, mostly licensing and certifications.
now selling to em'...
under prop 215, all dispensaries are supposed to be operated as "non-profit." what that means is all chronic bought and sold in the despensaries are supposed to be "donations." meaning; patients are supposed to grow the bud, and donate it. In turn, the medibanks 'reimburse u.'
So really, no one is supposed to be contracted to grow solely 4 a medibank...that would be considered buisness for profit.
we all know they do though...

ive never heard of a club paying more than 250 an oz for there top shelf and lbs seem to cap at 3500. im coming with you next time.

I just picked up $$$ in advance, in full, AGAIN, for an elbow of my SDxSB that is coming down Saturday and will be delivered when dried... not jar cured, again. Its been a trend for the last 8 months....
If you grow it right, flush it right, and dry it right, it'll smoke good and fine without a traditional 2 week jar cure. GRANTED THE CURE MAKES IT EVEN BETTER... but my production buds dont get a cure. And my production buds are being snatched up like hotcakes before they are even out of the oven. $300 per z... 4800 an elbow.

Yeah but those are in LA county...at least a 45 minute drive from where I'm at. Supposedly they're going to open one up in Simi Valley but I'll believe it when I see it. As far as I can know (and according to weedtracker) there are no dispensaries in Ventura County. We didn't even have Medical ID Cards until recently.

you don't want the county/state issued id cards if you grow more than the state guidelines because then your name is part of a list...
a few friends in the triangle got visits from the sheriff and his friends a few days after they applied for their state issues id card.

Don't you have to have a medical recommendation to get into the dispensaries? Is there anyway to get one without ending up on a list? Also, do you have to join a collective to be able to be "reimbursed" for your meds? And can anyone join?

dude the local medical marijuana doctors office is all you need to visit. THATS THE ONLY RECCOMENDATION YOU NEED.

grow buds better than everybody else and all the dispenaries will want you to be part of their collective. its pretty easy... and very hard.

The original post was about entrepreneurial growers , growing for the MM community . Even with the feds backing off (so they say) states that have MM laws ,that should NOT leave a grower feeling free to just plant a patch and rake in the $$$$. There is still a larger community of recreational users of Cannabis, and don't you imagine if the gangs feel like you ( a grower) are cutting in on their business they will be just a little pissed at you ? Isn't it easier to rip off someone elses grow ,than to put in the work it takes to grow your own ?
I was just trying to make the point ,amongst all of this euphoria ,that openly talking about your grow is still dangerous.

Ive done it. Gone in, with weight and successfully walked out with an ass load of cash. This was a few years ago and I did have my card. A friend who knew an owner had introduced me and voila. But there is also more to it than just having the goods and walking in.
You have to know the clubs hustle, these people are not hacks, this is their business and they do not let little stoner shit heads to walk out with their money.
They see a million entrepreneurs like us coming in and out every day and they try to break us. ******99% of the time they will tell you that your stuff sucks, they can get it for cheaper and they might even shoe you out of the store. Don't be discouraged!! But if you come back a few days later, pack a bowl or buy a g, shoot the shit with a tender or owner and show them your not a schmuck they might just bequeath upon you the opportunity to sell them medical marijuana.
I have since had people tell me that it happens this way or that way or that it cant be done at all. Im sure there are a million ways and a million stories but i know that it can be done!! the clubs pay top price and it is a hell of a lot safer than meeting in the dark alley behind Safeway.

Thanks for the info Severiously Dank, it's good to hear it can be done. I'm hopeful the industry and clubs will get more standardized and all growers can get compensated fairly, based on the quality of their medication and not who they know. This article is about the new technology being used to assess quality and shows where the industry is heading, and I for one like where it's going.

Successfully doing this really comes down to how big your balls are. It takes nuts to walk into one of these places and pitch. You are probably gonna fail a few times before you are successful and the failure could be an ugly, painful crash and burn. Sac it up. YOU CAN DO IT IF YOUR NOT A PUSSY!!! I understand what your sayin about the quality greyskull, the clubs are the biggest snobs youll ever meet, but you can make $$$ off of the weak stuff. As long as its not full of stems and seeds, and if you offer a good enough price they may take it. They can use it for free gram days, roll it up and sell it or use it in any other way that can make them some cash. If you got a ton of the shitty stuff, bobby flay that shit up and just make it into butter or oil.
Neef- Get a card, frequent one club, read some books, schmooze your ass off.

you definatley have to have balls when you roll in. They are gonna tear you apart. "hey this loks leafy" or "this looks like mold". you have to know what the hell you are doing. don't even try kidding yourself thinking its "easy just plant a seed and grow some pot and chop it down payday". you will get laughed out of town ebcasue growing the killer is hard work attention to detail and high levels of balls.
you walk in with the crip you get whatever you want. you damn sure better be bringing in better buds than the other 50 dudes who have been in before you though.
know your market. the first thing i do when i meet a new buyer is ask "what do you like to buy" and "what do your patients like to smoke". from there its all elementary.
