Yes, perhaps we will get a witch hunt. Only the exposed flanks will go down...the real perps will walk...all a floor show for the gullible. I'm looking forward to it all....

I'm still correct...of course. No real probe will occur.

Where's the Al Queda prison again? I know I know, no one cares about THEIR atrocities.....

I read yesterday that one guy was subjected to waterboarding 266 times.... this not tirture....

I can allready see the conversation in my head... " you thought 83 times was bad, this month we'll do it 183 times...

Yes people that is how many times this guy was waterboarded in one month.

Yes, and what that tells me is it is more psychological than physical. In the end any serious interrogation technique is all about breaking the mind or will, not the body. that's what makes waterboarding so effective.

Don't worry though, I have it on good authority that Al Queda does NOT use water boarding....phew!!!! That's a relief huh?

look you guys executed japanese soldiers for waterboarding US captives... why change the rules now?

Uhh, while the Japanese were executed none were put to death for JUST water boarding, their crimes were far more heinous, although these same people did utilize water boarding. There is a difference. Now should we execute the training personnel that give water boarding as a training exercise to our own troops? It's a slippery slope.
Further we gather about half of our intelligence from captive prisoners....so now what? Just ask them politely to cough it up? What's the alternative? No intel gathering from prisoners? Water boarding is physically harmless.

Report Gives New Detail on Approval of Brutal Techniques

http://crooksandliars.com/susie-madrak/trickle-down-torture-rumsfeld-memo-usTrickle-Down Torture: Rumsfeld Memo Used to Justify Torture in Gitmo, Afghanistan and Iraq
A newly declassified Congressional report released Tuesday outlined the most detailed evidence yet that the military’s use of harsh interrogation methods on terrorism suspects was approved at high levels of the Bush administration. The report focused solely on interrogations carried out by the military, not those conducted by the Central Intelligence Agency at its secret prisons overseas. It rejected claims by former Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and others that Pentagon policies played no role in harsh treatment of prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq or other military facilities.
The report showed that Mr. Rumsfeld’s authorization was cited by a United States military special-operations lawyer in Afghanistan as “an analogy and basis for use of these techniques,” and that, in February 2003, a special-operations unit in Iraq obtained a copy of the policy from Afghanistan “that included aggressive techniques, changed the letterhead, and adopted the policy verbatim.”
Months later, the report said, the interrogation officer in charge at Abu Ghraib obtained a copy of that policy “and submitted it, virtually unchanged, through her chain of command.” This ultimately led to authorization by Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez of the use of stress positions, “sleep management” and military dogs to exploit detainees’ fears, the report said.
“The paper trail on abuse leads to top civilian leaders, and our report connects the dots,” Senator Carl Levin, Democrat of Michigan, the chairman of the Armed Services Committee, said on Tuesday in a conference call with reporters. “This report, in great detail, shows a paper trail going from that authorization” by Mr. Rumsfeld “to Guantánamo to Afghanistan and to Iraq,” Mr. Levin said.

http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/heather/philip-zelikow-white-house-attempted-destroyPhilip Zelikow: Bush White House Attempted to Destroy Alternative Memo on Torture
Rachel Maddow talks to former State Department lawyer under Condoleeza Rice, Philip Zelikow who says that the Bush administration attempted to destroy all copies of an alternative memo on interrogation techniques he wrote in 2005.
At the time, in 2005, I circulated an opposing view of the legal reasoning. My bureaucratic position, as counselor to the secretary of state, didn't entitle me to offer a legal opinion. But I felt obliged to put an alternative view in front of my colleagues at other agencies, warning them that other lawyers (and judges) might find the OLC views unsustainable. My colleagues were entitled to ignore my views. They did more than that: The White House attempted to collect and destroy all copies of my memo. I expect that one or two are still at least in the State Department's archives.
More later ...

Bush will not be held accountable unless the UN does it.He won his get out of jail card when we elected him.I think he should but the probability is very slim.

That is a worry many have ... check it ...
Turley: 'God help us' if torture only gets a '9/11 commission'
The recent release of Bush administration torture memos has given rise to calls for prosecution of the Justice Department lawyers who wrote those memos. However, law professor Jonathan Turley believes that this may represent a deliberate attempt to draw attention away from George Bush, Dick Cheney, and the other high Bush administration officials who ordered the torture.
Like you I can't see prosecution happening in the US ... only a mock trial like the 911 commission ... man was that ever a joke ... I think our best bet will be pressure from Europe ... check it out ...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/04/21/AR2009042103742.htmlEuropean Nations May Investigate Bush Officials Over Prisoner Treatment
European prosecutors are likely to investigate CIA and Bush administration officials on suspicion of violating an international ban on torture if they are not held legally accountable at home, according to U.N. officials and human rights lawyers.
I just can't see the US doing what's right ... it would mean charging large numbers of the elite with treason ... they simply aren't going to let that happen ... our only hope to bring these war criminals to justice will be Europe ... Obama will pull a Clinton if he can and stop any meaningful investigation ... :-|

Lets prosecute bush for torturing people and saving lives?....Do you not remember 911. I remember it vividly, al quada promised that another attack was immanent. Bush made sure it didn't happen on his watch and I applauded him and even joined the marines soon after. I am proud to say that I served in Iraq and ya innocent people died and Im sure innocent people were tortured. That is what happens when you go to war, at least if you want to win. I guess every generation has its passive ungrateful pussys. Its a good thing that America has had patriotic men step up to the plate when needed or America would not be as it is today, the greatest nation in world.

Oh man ... no where near as thick as you ... you can't even comprehend simple concepts ... way out

Lets prosecute bush for torturing people and saving lives?....
bush didn't save any lives .... that's just propaganda bullshit ... they put out ... it's been well established that torture doesn't work ...

Do you not remember 911. I remember it vividly, al quada promised that another attack was immanent.
Oh yeah .... I remember ... seeing the towers falling down and believed right then it was a control demolition ... the sound was off and I didn't know what happen ... I thought why did they keep showing a controlled demolition ... and the fake Al-Qaeda didn't promised anything ... the war criminals in the government said they said it ... nothing more ...
Bush made sure it didn't happen on his watch
Well that was pretty easy ... just didn't have another false flag attack that all ... nothing new or remarkable there ...

and I applauded him and even joined the marines soon after. I am proud to say that I surved in Iraq and ya inesent people died and Im sure inosent people were tortured.
OMG ... they use the same lies to start wars yet they have no problem finding suckers to put their lives on the line in the name of some false freedom and liberty ... just like those kids in the movie "All Quite on the Western Front" ... same propaganda used when hilter did a false flag attack was used after 911... ever hear of "Operation Norwood" ... doubt it ... look it up ... maybe you might learn something ... nothing has chance... plenty of fodder for war to keep the wealthy in power and control.

That is what happens when you go to war, at least if you want to win. I guess every generation has its passive ungreatfull pussys.
What a stupid and bullshit excuse for committing war crimes ... and the pussies are the ones that allow it to happen and make up excuses for it ... or have the audacity put those down that know the difference between right and wrong and speak out. I guess every generation has it's war mongers that think killing is just fine whether they are innocent or not.

Its a good thing that america has had patriotic men step up to the plate when needed or America would not be as it is today, the greatest nation in world.
God Bless the patriotic women and men that speak out against war crimes ... and works to have war criminals held accountable. America would not be hated as we are today if not for the policy of war criminals ...
