im a weed guy myself, drunk drivers fucking suck! my mom and grandma got hit by one while stopped at stop sign. my mom broke her neck in 3 places and was in a coma for 4 months then required 2 years to be rehabilitated. my grandma flew 30 ft and lost her arm (literally). nothing wrong with enjoying some drinks but if you drive drunk your asking for lots of trouble (kill someone=life in prison) plus think of all the pain it'd cause the family.

just adding to this thread I think if everyone stopped at a strong buzz alcohol wouldn't be such a bad thing.

too bad nobody in a feel good ignorant society would abide by that idea.

i'm a college student and i drink every weekend and i like it. but i would much rather smoke a bowl or blunt instead of drink anytime. nothing compares to the green

I'm had a step-dad who was a alcoholic and beat my mom. I took care of his ass in short order .. Then in college I worked at a gas station and saw all the alcoholics wives come in and buy their POS husbands a case a day, half they time they showed up with black eyes and puffy lips where they'd recently been beaten.

There have been documented cases of DUI deaths due to stoners driving but they're in the minority compared to alcohol so I won't use that as a determining factor.

The bottom line is alcohol effects many people in such a way that they become belligerent and violent. I've never met a MJ smoker who got violent while high. Even people who are typically violent sober tend to mellow and become peaceful when stoned.

For the complete opposite reaction I vote weed. In fact since coming out of stoner retirement I absolutely loath the feeling of being drunk and am loosing any taste I have for alcohol. Even when I was not smoking weed I rarely drank to get drunk. I'd drink 1 or 2 drinks and then stop for the night because I didn't like the feeling of being drunk. Being stoned I love, being drunk I could live with out. I could completely go for alcohol prohibition if they legalized MJ, I'd never miss booze.

lol I must have too much hippie blood, gave up on the booze in my twenties, now its only pot and psycedelics for me.

unless u jus wake up hi... plus bein drunk makes me feel nasty..idk.
maybe a blunt and a ice cold beer.

Quit drinking over 15 years ago. Smoking has medicinal quality, not sure what drinking ever had positive for me.

ok. I guess I'll chime in. Drinking is the my last resort to taking the edge off. I don't like drinking because it destroys the body(weight increase, prolonged drinking you get phisically addicted...plus 100 other negatives I don't feel like talking about.) I do like to try different types of beers though. However, marijuana I prefer. it is healthier and the effects seem to be more positive and the drinking effects seem to be more of a ......blaaaahhhh ...... type of feeling.

If I were told tomorrow that I could never drink alcohol again for the rest of my life... I wouldn't be too upset about it. I might not be upset at all, actually. If were told that I couldn't smoke weed anymore? I'd be devastated.

yup.. This is one reason I never stood why alcohol is alowed and marijuana is not, I honestly believe pot could stop wars.. but I have to admit I enjoy a couple beers and a toke, I find they mix well together.
