Feminised seeds

Ok i just want to clear this up and im sure it will be usefull for lots of other people reading this on here as well

If you buy feminised seeds - are there only two possible outcomes when it comes to determining the sex..

females or hermies..

I say this as ive seen what i think are small sacs on two of my "feminised" plants... ie i think they are hermies

Apparently ive heard there is a 10% chance of this happening, but is there any way to cure it without giving them the chop?

Please could someone clear this up for me so that i can get on with my grow.

people are quick to call something a hermie cuz they see pollen.

does it have a full male flower? hood or just anthers?

most likely u just stressed out ur plant and she nutted for u. u can take the little yellow sac an break it to relase the pollen on the bud then u will have your own feminized seeds

see to be honest i dont know what it is... its just got little green sacs some are clustered into 2 or 3 all very small and on different internodes - if it is a hermie id like the bud off it if at all possible.

Im not fussed about it producing feminised seeds for me as i can get them from the shops - i just want top bud production for all my girls, is there anything i can do to solve this?

Can anyone help me out on this one?

Is the outcome female or hermie and if it is hermie - is there any way i can treat them?

i had a hermie with this last batch. the advice given to me, was to chop it down, that being the easiest.

but i was also told that if you really want the bud off of it, start cutting off the balls. making sure to get ALL of them. and they will grow back....so you'll have to keep cutting them.

i just chopped mine down.

the main problem with hermies is infesting your other plants with pollen.
you should be able to clearly see the male flowers way before they open up and release pollen, but thats taking risks.
if your running a grow with 15 plants you would rather kill something you suspect to be hermi for your peace of mind. if you'r growing a single plant you can just grow a hermi. will produce less, but that something too.

Its only 5 plants...

2 are females and flowering already - although i suspect 2 out of the other 3 (which are a different strain) may be hermies - im tempted to remove the sacs and keep letting them grow.

Someone also mentioned using liquid cement on the sacs to keep them from releasing pollen and letting the hermie grow - has anyonne tried anything like this or has experience in treating hemies???

i know that if you really want to keep your hermies you just need the cut the sacs.
but remember - one open sac can conteminate your whole room.

Has anynone tried using liquid cement or anything similar to contain the pollen sacs of hermies so that you can get the bud off of them too?

I mentioned how many years ago I met an old hippie, the first person I personally met that grew seedless pot, who said if he had a hermi he would cover the pollen sacks with rubber cement and seal in the pollen. He swore it worked perfectly but I have never tried it so I do not know if it works or not so I am NOT telling anyone to do it or to rely on it. It is just what I was told around four decades ago.

Ok man i hear you... i might actually try it and let you know how i get on becasue it is only a very small grow (5 plants) and i think i have two hermies - if i do try it ill be sure to let you know how i get on (",)

Oh yeah... i forgot to ask... was the hippy stoned when he told you this lol

Of course, he was always stoned … he was an old hippie … but he grew great herb. He also taught me how to roll a joint that was perfect. He ran the only head shop in my town … until the town harassed him until he closed it. He drove a BIG old 1948 Chevy that looked like an upside down bathtub and he looked like Jerry Garcia did not long before he died.

if it has a whole male flower its a hermie, but if theres just anthers sticking out of a calx or tw its most likely u light poisoned ur plant and it stessed out
