ok so i just bought a new setup. gotta digital switchable ballist 600w with both bulb upgrades. got the agro-max mh conversion and the agro-max hps for the future, lol, yhea baby!!!! so top now while they are 7 inches high and then veg that for a few weeks is what you are saying.?

Yep.
They'll veg for probably another 3-4 wks before they're nice and bushy. Mine still end up 20-36" after stretch. About a week into flowering I top all of the main shutes again.This will give you 2 buds up top and make all the lower nodes fill in.

Frosty, can u do that 2-3 weeks in2 bud, like completly lollipopn lower branchs? im 3weeks in2 12 12 and the intial 12 12 stretch is more than i would like on some my girls, and im 3 weeks in ...they were mostly topped midway in veg, and have multiple budding shoots. but not much light on lowers. wut should be best at 3 weeks in on this type deal..thanks

Yeah.
You can definately top them again now. It really helps fill in the lower nodes. Lollypoppin some of the lower branches is an option too, keep fan leaf removal to a minimum unless you want to remove a select few from the middle of the plant.

seriously seems odd taht u would need more light but since u bought it try it out then next time maybee but a co2 set up and rember its strain dependent so for ur strain u might be have good results but all the other factors seem right and make sure to keep the light as close as u can to the plants since is aircooled

use 18/6 lighting schedule for veg then switch to 12/12 when they are fully mature
and you should get a bigger yield.
If you want you can look into LST. It's all over RIU.

spend 500 and get 2 1000 watt cool tube with ballasts off ebay.

if you live in on the west coast try craiglist. i got a 600 w with bulb reflector ballast all for 50 bucks
