i have a 4" 177 cfm fan exchausting my grow room, my temps are still kinda high and i know if i turn the fan around and have it sucking in air rather then sucking it out, it will drop my temps, but i am worried it might have adverse consequences, such as bringing in mold spores or raising humitity, or something else i can't even think of, any knowlege lent would be much appriciated!!!

You are going to stink up the whole block doing that.
i am venting outside now, i want to swtich to incomeing only, not stinking up the block cause the air from outside will be sucked in, did you think it backwards or am i misunderstanding what u are saying?

Right now i have only negative pressure to bring in new air, and a fan laid outside the door pointed at the opening

No your right, I assumed you were using a carbon scrubber or something to clean the air before you exhausted it. Sort answer is : Yes changing you ventilation around will drop your room a few degrees.

I was thinking the same thing man, right now i have a canfan 4inch sucking air in and it works great just have to put some airfillters between the outside and inside. Then i have a 6inch Blower hooked up to a air ducing T with a 9inch house fan on the other side both fans sucking air out.

Do you have a cool tube ??

I setup a cheap cooltube i made durning the grow it helped out allot bringing the temp down, but still had problems every once in a while.

I was planning on making a way better DIY cooltube after my harvest, take my 4'' canfan hook it up to a Carbon Fillter then the other side to my light so air gets sucked in threw the fillter passes threw the light (cooling it down) then out the room(were i used to bring air in from)

So i think i am going to use my 6inch Blower as a intake and the 4inch canfan as my outake, i believe you want more bad/hot air blowing out then cool air blowing in

Still have to think of where i am going to pull my new cool air intake

So i should keep it sucking the air out, and not turn it around?

....Nah, i wish i had a cool tube, never thought about it till recently, now i think i will make one for the next grow!

No i wouldnt turn it around, i would leave it setup like that, make your cool tube, hook that up to your fan. Try that out it that does not work then we will keep thinking. But you said your venting out side so you already have a carbon fillter hooked up right ? if your going to vent out side thats a must.

Setup

Carbon fillter - Vortex fan - Cool Tube - Ducing to ouside

Carbon Filter, hang it at the top of your grow room were the heat is from bungies, you can make your own, or buy a nice one from a hydro store

Then you have your Vortex fan, i would us a small piece of air ducting tube to connect them together, use clamps to connect (if you use just tape it will fall off after some time)

Then you have your Cool tube, witch agian you can build your self or just buy one from a hydro store,

You can always just go buy a piece of glass that is cut to size of your light you already have then use some wire and other pieces of sheet metal to inclose it and make your own but make sure you do a good job you dont want it falling apart in the middle of the grow.

After you hang that all up from chains or whatever you have, just use the ducting to hook it up to the outside and your set. Oh yea if you can make a shelf buy the carbon filter not to close, for your ballast for the light that might help with heat to.

alright man good luck have fun let me know if this works i will be wait for this thread of on your other one for pics of your building it hahahah i want to see the work in a pic journal lmao im out bowls away bongsmilie

Use a vented hood for your light. Vented hoods have two vents. One vent is for intake air and should be left open. The other vent should be hooked up via dryer hose to your Vortex fan. The fan should exit the top of your cabinet via dryer hose, and should be hooked up to your carbon filter that is sitting outside of your cabinet. I have mine sitting on top of the cabinet. This way, the hot air from inside the grow is drawn across your light bulb with a cooling effect, then out the Vortex fan and into your carbon filter. Hooked up properly, your temps should drop at least 10 degrees.

Woulden't it be better to have the filter taking in air befor it reaches your cool tubem then the exit air is already filtered

filter>>>>vortex>>>>>dryer hose>>>cool tube>>>dryer hose>>>outside
