Hey dudes.. quick question for everyone.

One of my mom plants.. i did a res topping yesterday and noticed its roots are a bit different. Slightly brown.. not bad but slightly.. which is no big deal as some of the others roots have shown brown too ... but question is.. the roots went from like very thin individual hairs to have a few thick vines almost. So in short.. now this plant has roots that look like big vines coming out the bottom ALONG with multiple thin individual hairlike shaped roots.. im not experienced at all as you all know so is this the beginnning to root rot? Its strange as none of the other plants have these "vine like" roots.. and at the same time this mom that im talking about is and always was my strongest mom. Is this root rot or a natural occurrence?

Oh and update on my clones.. out of the 12 i've lost 4.. the rest are still holding on right now.. i think they are actually rooting or rooted almost. I think today i will give a tug on them to see.. (i've just been delaying the tug as it hurts me to have to throw the little shits out :( )

oh OK nvm then lol. It kinda surprised me because all the others in the res have thin hair roots..

NICE i am still in business.. i do not want to be yet another victim of the infamous root rot.

You don't suffer root rot as long as you keep your reservoir and hydro medium clean and your air pumps going nonstop.

lol i dunno man.. this guy right here is kinda my mentor "dynamiteJack" .. i asked him like every question possible when i started.. https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/172072-first-grow-northern-lights-leds-10.html I wont lie though, as my mentor he's not so much of an expert himself lol!

Anyways his air pump woudl blow mine away.. and he still got root rot and not a clue why haha.

Shit scares me hard. If i see rotting roots i will shoot that bitch. Root rot makes me wake up at 6 am sometimes shaking with sweat.

Chusett settle down and take a deep breath buddy. A little bit of 3% peroxide each res change (1-2) capfulls 5-18 gallon has kept me root rot free most of my un naturally newly DWC born life. Which is older than my first son. So chill bro. That and Steady (On time) res changes (every 3 weeks) should be just good for ya..
U could also get some subculture m and b and never have to worry about it but its not to cheap.
Just stick with the program man. Ur doing fine. Roots stain. Sometimes mine grow bark. As long as ur water doeasnt get stinky. U dont get slime and u dont let light in the res u should be fine.
Smoke a bowl man. Get some ass.
U are way to obsessed.
Dont over care for ur plants man. I treat mine like crap. And they love me for it.

If you really worry about root rot get some cannazyme to break down dying roots.
i can say one thing about that cannazym and the canna line nutes,,,they very strong!I still have the full line and aint used em yet..IM SCARED OF EM,,LOL...naaa i got my tds meter but the GH line works perfect everytime so i dont like to fix anything that aint broke..

lol dont worry i only joking about the waking up sweating and shooting her haha! But yeah true.. i read somewhere that one of the bigger noob mistakes people make is stressin over their plants too much and that might in turn stress the plants. Such as grow area renovations etc etc. I try not to move too much stuff around ;) And your right if you treat your plants rough at least they grow tough and they look to grow themselves instead of being babied i guess.

To be honest.. im only home about 2 hours a day (besides sleep).. and i own a dog so sometimes i actually really feel guilty that im not home enough. SO with the plants i also kinda obsess over them because i dont want to go home the next day and have crumpled yellow things lol.

But anyway ive been using 2 caps of H202 per res change / 1 cap per topping/week and hopefully it stays good.

Its hard not to stress it man.. i through like almost every dollar i have in this.. i dont even have $$ to cop dubs to relax lol. Its like if this fails.. im screwed in every way. And now ive lost 5 of the 12 clones so i guess im just trying to keep these moms 100% healthy!

yeaa i heard about the canna too from my research.. supposedly a bit better than hygrozyme as canna turns dead roots and rots into nute. I think i will hold on the zymes.. i might get rhizotonic because my clones are dying and i need to prepare for next cuttings properly. Theres the superthrive stuff but from what i read i will stay away. What i DO need is a damn EC or TDS meter.

Chusett bro have u ever thought about considering a real simple way of cloning man? I do alot of mine in a cup of tap water next to my moms in veg. Works real good (100%) now. Just cut my girls and put um in a cup and watch the water daily to see if it need more. If it doesnt i just change it out with fresh water. Getting roots on my moms within 5 days now. Some can take up to 2-3 weeks tho. Considering strain and health of the mom plants i guess.
As a newb or not this is the easiest way to clone that i know. I also use a much more sophisticated method i guess that brings just as good results but requires less work i guess with peat plugs and spounges.
Rockwool was always a pian in the ass for me even when i perfected it. But does bring the same great results i guess.
Id reccomend a more simple method of cloning for new cloners. One that would fit each particular need. I can tell u realisticly tho. Ive filled SOG's with a cup of water tho.
Guess its whatever works tho.
Hope that helps man.

ya dude surprisingly i been reading that and seems to be a common way.. now that you say it too i probablyw ill try it nex time. No harm right. Im just trying different things right now and seeing what works.. so far i did the dome method but a couple died.. and bottom line is these ones i have left seem OK but are not rooting. Its like day 8. The put it in a cup of water and let it sit awhile seems to work for alot but i cant understand how the clone doesnt die from rootrot? I made my RW cubes too moist i think.. which is why i lost some clones. I'll try it though.

I also learned a few other things like a heat mat under my dome is optimal.. which i dont have. And i hda the clones under 24/7 the whole time until 2 days ago i read to keep it 18/6 so it can get roots in the dark. Hopefully it gets some roots soon.

and you seem to be right about RW too.. when i started it just seemed like it was recommended by like every grow guide/faq out there so i picked it up. But now it seems when i talk to growers.. the majority tell me to use rapid rooters or peat plugs. Quick question, is peat plug a jiffy plug?

hey purp.. not a pro myself but i read that if you stand directly above the light .. if a bud sight is blocked and not getting light then you trim around it until you can see that bud sight from your view (staring down from the top where the light is). I know trimming in flower is bad but supposedly that is what you may need to do!

I think if you cut gradually, instead of all at once, it should be good during flowering, but you always hear somthing, then hear somthing else,

I have always clipped during flowering and have had no issues. You do it a little each day.Not all at once, that would be bad.

Hey purps man to be perfectly honest man i really dunno how they are going to do in flower in a hydro setup like ours bro. I can tell u my friend goes 4-6 weeks on those in soil before going to 12/12 and he says they finish out at 3 ft commonly.
I hate comparing soil grow characteristics to what happens in my system thats why i always say be on the safe side and 12/12 @ 10 inches max on an unfamiliar strain in system's like ours..
LOL but u did it man now we are just gonna have to see what happens bro. U know that these DWC/Bubbleponics type systems seem to break all the rules when trying to compare to other methods of growing.
But like i said originally its real good to see one of these AK in our systems especially pushed so hard in veg so all u can do is hope u have the head room for um and hope they dont exceed what u have to work with.
But im gonna think as long as u have at least 4 Feet between the bottom of ur tube to the tops of ur plants right now u should be cool.
I wouldnt cut anything off them in flower id get some string and thumbtacks and LST before i did anything else mang.
Cant wait to see how those do..
U should have pre-flower's by now as well this late in veg so they should sex real fast when u go to 12/12 if u cant see sex now.
LOL alright then thats a long ass post man.:peace:
