First grow in NC.

I am a long time indulger of the mighty leaf, and having just re-located from lush western Canada down to the bible belt of rural North Carolina I have decided to try to grow my own supply rather than paying the rIdicules prices they are asking for sub-par product down here.
I have done a lot of reading the last few weeks and am simply amazed at the ingenuity, craftiness and awesome looking crops of the home growers and I think with help from the people here I too can do a pretty decent job and become self sufficient in the area of mj.
Like most beginners I tried my hand at germinating some bag seeds a couple of weeks ago and now have 7 healthy seedlings under 150w of daylight cfl in a plastic tote in my outbuilding.
It is my plan to buy a metal or wooden cabinet and modify it as needed in the hopes of getting a couple nice yields per year to keep my mostly weekend smoking habit satisfied. This new "hobby" is already consuming most of my daily thoughts and I cannot remember being this excited about anything in a long time.
Thankfully, I have a nice private building on my property where this grow will be taking place where a little noise and a little leaking light or odor should not be a concern but I will operate it as stealthy as if it were in my house.
My big problem I know I am going to have here is HEAT! The average summer temps here in NC usually dont drop much below 90 degrees even at night with high humidity and the temp in my building can easily reach over 100 with all windows and doors open.
I had the ingenious idea of perhaps drawing cool air from under the building thru the floor into my grow cabinet but I am not even sure that will work even with the best ventilation system, and I am not sure that is the best air to be pumping onto my crop anyway.
An a/c is not an option I want to pursue, and unless someone can suggest something I will have to postpone my first grow till late summer or fall when the weather is more forgiving.
I guess it will give me time to get my cabinet properly outfitted, and I can still experiment with seedlings and such in the mean time while following other peoples grows till then I guess.
The upside is I can easily grow right thru the winter here with near perfect temps.

Thanks

i lived with a fiance of mine in greensboro and the temp almost NEVER ran above 85 degrees ferenheit up there this was in 2005-6 and i now live in fl the temp is very hot and i basically have to use an AC chances are if the temp there is that high your gonna need an AC unit ESPECIALLY if you use a metal cabinet which conducts and maginifies heat

So, I found a free plastic cabinet (2x2x6'), not as big as I wanted but it will do for now, and it was free. It was easily modified and light/air proofed it in no time and now have my 7 small seedlings which vary in age from 14 to 28 days nestled nicely inside.
I also was able to considerably improve the ventilation in my building to where the internal temps are only 5 degrees above outside temps which are already in the high 80's here.
Drawing the cooler air from under my building into my cabinet is keeping my plant chamber a couple degrees below outside temps but I know I will be doomed when the temps hit the high 90's in a few weeks.
I will try to reverse my light/dark cycles to allow my plants to be in the dark for the hottest parts of the day and throw in a few frozen 2 liter water bottles in the hopes of keeping the plants alive but I have little hope this will work ...but I have to try.

Just an update.... The cannabis Gods were smiling on me as I was able to liberate an Air Conditioner from the poker room... and so now I am planning to build a 4'x6' room in my building in which to house my grow operations and use the A/C to cool just that small space. I should have it built within a week or so, just in time before the worst of the summer heat sets in.
