Reservoir Auto-Fill Float Valve

I built my own hydro setup, and I'm looking to make an auto fill reservoir, but can not find a small float valve at my locale hardware stores. I'm looking for something similar to what SH.com uses in there Bubbleponics setups. I just dont know what the practical application this part is used for.
