So instead of sucking thru the charcoal filter and out of the duct can u suck air out of the room and blow it into a charcoal filter if it is big enough say a 4 foot one
What? It's not like we're dealing with atmospheric pressure. Yes, typically 'pulling' is better than 'pushing', but in the absence of 'fighting' a force it's negligible. If you're using a pre-made filter always pull air through it instead of pushing air out. They are designed to work this way and will fail prematurely if you operate them in reverse. There is pre-filter material on the outside of the filter to remove larger particulate matter that would otherwise quickly clog up the filter and render it useless. There is none on the inside of the filter.
Did you even read my post? I said that pre-made filters are designed to function in a "pull through" configuration. I never once commented that "pulling" air was better than "pushing" air. The filter is just designed to work better with one than the other. What? It's not like we're dealing with atmospheric pressure. Thank you, I forgot that one! Absolutely correct.the reason to suck air thru the filter first is you are moving clean air. if you get a leak the air smells good.
if you blow air you are moving dirty air and all leaks smell.
