Insane electric bill

I just got an electric bill that jumped over one hundred dollars. All I am running is 8 4' 40 watt flourescent bulbs in 3 fixtures and a fan 24/7. Does anyone have an idea why it jumped so much, my calculator says my bill should be around $65.

Sounds like you are paying a lot.

I'm currently running eight 54w T5 bulbs, three 16" oscilating fans 24/7, two 6" 450cfm inline fans on 15/min off 45min 24/7 and two 600w HPS lights on 12/12 and my electric bill is only $120-140.

my bills the last few months have been 400-600... summer is coming and i am looking at 1200-1500 again.

did you check your power bill.. maybe you used too much and they bumbed you into the next tier where juice costs a bit more... i am in tier 5.

wait if a really good 700 watt LED setup runs for about $3000 and in the summer your electricity bill is 1200-1500, would you invest in a exspensive LED setup if it brings your $1200-$1500 electriciy down by 80%, $240-$300?

I'm writing the electric company, and am going to use an amp meter, something is shorted and just not pulling enough to trip the breaker. I'm so worried about the fuzz, over a %300 percent increase from last month, and that month was %200 from the month before.

Yeah but what if they have to come inside your house to inspect/fix the problem?

you may get a phone call (rarely happens unless the bill goes over 2gs)
just confidently explain you got a new a/c (for example) and are aware of the extra power consumption

also, its getting to be summer... if in socal its heating up so they areexpecting some bills to raise

glad to hear you got it worked out bro.... i hate to see the electric companies get so much damn money out of us... but who else do you choose from??

my power use has me stumped... when we first moved here, i was running a 400 w mh... bare basics, no fans, filters, etc..... bill was averaging $120... made adjustments to try to save power, and then ended up stopping my grows for awhile, and the bill jumped to $170 on avg..... now im running a 600w hps, a 430cfm inline, ac 24/7, and my bill is down to like $80 a month....
WTF??... not complaining though.... i mean, who could grow pot indoors with an elec. bill of $80? right?

I was running a 1000w set up and I got destroyed over the winter $600 or more every month, but I also have electric heat. I'm thinking about investing in a led system because i don't think I can afford to run my other set up. $1200 bucks is more than i can come up with for an led now too, it sucks I'm stuck under cfls now because i can't go either way.

my electric bill was 175. My neighbors was 30. Lol. A 600 and a 400 and a six in fan and a four inch fan. Some cfls for clone. My air is my apt air. A 15 year old air conditioner. I ran it everyday, lol. OW!

they are auditing your meter every few months. Soon you may be screwed. I think.

I heard sometimes they check every few months and then figure what you will pay with an average for the next. So soon. . .
