Nick's Aeroponics

Sup guys...

My name is Nick. I obviously enjoy smoking weed. I enjoy it so much I've decided to grow it..

On my lunch break today I went to Home Depot ,Lowes & my local pet store and got all of my plumbing & pumps, and air stones.

I've got some questions for you guys, and would absolutley appreciate your input.

I'm setting everything up tonight, and I'm going to get the system running hopefully tonight as well.

I'm picking up my seeds tomorrow..

I'm going to be starting the seeds in paper towel, as most of you do.

This is my first growing venture, so please excuse all my dumbass questions.

1) How long should the seed be in the paper towel before I move it into my aero set-up (I'll post pics tomorrow if I finish it tonight)

2) What vites do you guys suggest once I do get the system up & running?

3) What should my light system (if any) be while the seed is in the paper towel?

4) What should my watering cycle be once I transplant the seed into the aero system? (XXhr on/XXhr off)

5) What lighting do you suggest for my aero set-up?

I saw a post about what the light cycle should be, in the Aerogrow thread - so I'll probably just follow that. The watering cycle is my other biggest concern though..

Thanks for all your help guys...

Welcome to rollitup.

the best thing a new grower can do is go to the https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/ section. Look over some grows and find ones like you want to try.

then picks some just ahead of you and make friends by posting questions in their journals.

then start a journal of your own, people will start to help after you post in it a week or so.

1) untill a white tale comes out about 1/4" to 1/2" long (1cm to 2cm).

4) i grow in soil and have no exp with an aero sys.

Hey man, glad to see your giving it a try. Heres a few tips i can offer: 1. Make sure no light can get into your reservoir. I use golf balls to plug up the holes, and black electrical tape for the holes that the airs-tone tubing goes through. 2. Keep the light as close as possible to prevent stretching. 3. Get supplemental lighting, at least a couple extra 42 W CFL bulbs from Home depot. Daylight bulbs for vegging and warm bulbs for flowering. I would add one more when flowering to have at least three warm ones for that, it needs it. I use the clamp lamps they sell at home depot or lowes with the reflecters, they work really well. 4. Get good nutrients!!!! If you dont have a hydroponic store near you, order online. Foxfarm, general hydroponics... along those lines.

Good luck!

Hydroponics stores sell some good nutrients I use DynaGro Grow formula for vegging and I'm getting DynaGro bloom formula for flowering.

I don't know what you mean by "watering cycle" with Aerogarden just keep the water up to a good amount and feed it nutrients. The lighting cycle is what matters, I think its 16/8 for vegging and 12/12 for flowering.

Also, home depot sells 68watt CFL bulbs that I recommend getting, Don't buy the metal clamp lamp unless you really need a clamp because its 7 dollars when you can just buy a 97 cent power cord and get a bulb plug in attachment its alot cheaper.

FoxFarm is a great brand. You should also check out the General Hydroponics line. I'm using their 3 part system and it works amazing. Check out these two grows and you'll see how the GH Line works.
