Hey guys, heres my plan when I start my grow next month. I'm going to have a 600w MH/HPS and some northern lights, I'm going to take clones before they start flowering and move the cuts to another room. Well since I only have 1 3x3 ebb n flow tray that will fit 12 10"x10" square pots I want to keep 12 girls flowering and need to know what kind of light I should use keep clones between 6-9 inches of growth by the time I move them into the flower room, about 8-12 weeks.

Should I use:
175w MH
250w MH
4 4ft T5 bulbs
6 4ft T8 bulbs

My goal is little growth and no stretching.

Im using a 250 MH setup for my clones and they seem to always take off. so Just from my personal experience I recommend the 250 MH.
Good luck with the clones dood

If you veg your clones for 8-12 weeks they will probly get real big by the time you move them into flowering

Using a mh will give you strong bushy plants fast.Usin t5s or t8s will get you bushy plants but ste.s won't be as thick as if you were using the mh.Now from my personal exp if you want slow good veg growth then use the floros but if u want to flower your plants qwuick then use the mh.

1st grow and im almost ready to flower. only prob is i dont have th cash for mh,or hps. would around 20 100w equivilant cfls be enough for flowering one large plant? and i add more of the warm light during flowering and take away most of the daylight spectrum? correct?

It sounds like you do what a lot of people do, which, is to have two rooms for a perpetual harvest without keeping mother plants. You take your clones off the plants prior to flowering for the next crop. With that, I have seen people use 4-foot fluorescents and it has been more than needed to get them to 6-9 inches. They would be closer to 12- 18 inches in that time. For 12 plants, you would only need four T-8 florescent tubes even for that.

20 100 watt equivalent bulbs would be more than enough and to answer your questions yes and yes.

So you guys think that 4 6500k T8 blubs will do the trick? If I use GE daylight bulbs they are a total of 10800 lumen.

Why not just use mothers and keep those in another room, seems easier if you ask me. Cut, Root, HID light build, flower, smoke, rinse and repeat. Your long term care of a mother is more intense, you feed her better in the long term. Eventually these clones you cut may become lame for lack of a better word. Depending on what you are feeding them prior to the cut, are they getting all the things they need?

dynamite i'm in your same situation what i do is take a few clones (5-6) right at flower then veg them so i can take are the clones i need 3 weeks before i harvest.then take all i need and veg a week or two then back to flower room. and for aadded bonus you can sell the moms or if thers room throw them into flower too for so real trees.

The spectrum that u r speaking of would be a full spectrum so that would be good for flowering.Imo I think you should look into ona gel or a diy filter.
