1000 watt hps question!!!

What are you going to do about the heat generated from that 1000 watt lamp? Check out the link back there about the cool tube.

Also, do some research here before deciding on the 1000 vs the two 600s. A lot of people have voiced opinions that the two 600s are a better option for bigger growing areas, which you say you have. Just do some more research on the threads in grow room set ups.

Sometimes cheapest is not always best. Just my two cents.

do not skimp on ur light system if u do u will be sorry. i did and i am sorry i did.i got a 1000 w. ballest & hood from htg the hood is called a air flow not worth a damn the glass is not sealed. when i hooked the fan to it the hood sucks air from where the glass and hood meet makes a whistleing sound and aluminum reflector in side the hood makes a lot of noise hitting the top of the hood wish i would have got a great white hood

I can vouch for the lumenair 6 and the magnum xxxl will be my next hood...

Cooltubes are a waste of time imo. I have 2 of them for sale for cheap! lol

hey wats up fellas!! thanks again for all the replies!! well i dont know if something is wrong with my internet but rollitup has been taking a long time to load... but yeah ive been doing a lot of googling and it seems that this is a pretty common discussion... i read in 1 thread that 2 600 watt hps will be better then 1 1000 watt hps... and then i later hear that 1000 watt hps will give more lumens and bigger buds... damn my head hurts and im blown as hell lol... i like the idea of 2 air cooled 600 watt hps... that way i can adjust the heights since plants grow differently... wat do u guys think??? 1 1000 watt hps or 2 600 watt hps??? i also heard that if u get 2 600 watt lights that its best to use 1 600 watt hps bulb for one light and an 600 watt mh light for the other... i head that thats the best way to grow ur bud... im confused as hell... wat do u guys say??? thanks alot!!!!

oh and i dont know if i forgot to mention but the room im using is air conditioned... my house is always super cold since i have 2 siberian huskies so our house temp is always under 70... bbrrrrr im actually freezing right now lol.... but yeah shud that work to my benefit??? or wat do u guys think??? shud i still be conserned about temps... the room is a pretty big room... somone used to live there but moved so its gonna be mine 2 grow now =]]

This is coming from a former 1000w advocate.(I use to run 4-1000w)
Think this over!
Light dissipates very quickly!!!
1-1000w covers roughly 4x4 area. That's 1.0kwh
2-600w's cover roughly 6x3 area. That's 1.2kwh
On top of that consider this, 1 600w bulb at 2ft. away will outperform a 1000w at 3ft. away.
I air cool my hoods and now my girls are literally a few inches from my glass sometimes.

check out the quantum series ballast. We run 2 1000watt ballast, both fully adjustable from 50percent power to 75 to 100 percent. Enables you to change your power output during the grow saving electricity and over kill. I think you can pick one up around 350

Buy yourself a dual 600w Lumatek ballast instead with two air-cooled hoods.
I picked a complete pair(Ballast,Hoods,Bulbs) for about $550.

Depends on how big you want to grow them. I have 9 good sized girls under 2.Here's mine.
I would use MH for veg and HPS for flower.
Personally I veg under a 400w MH.

If your doing 2 600's (which im all for, im going to be adding a 1000 to my 600 so as the plants reach maturity, they get the big light for the big buds..), make sure your wired for 220v. Most dual 600's are 220 only. Otherwise get a magnetic 100 and a whatever 600 and you can up the light does when thc production is at its peak, just a thought..

seems like a decent lamp and its very cheap... and for an extra 35$ they let u upgrade the bulb to a hortilux bulb... it will be $224.97 for the whole set up and the hortilux bulb... the good thing is that i got a pretty big room to grow but the bad thing is that im on a budget and that light seems like it wud give me good bud for $224.97.... if u were on a budget wud u buy this lamp??? and next month im gonna be good on money and i might get a 600watt hps... and by the way im vegging under 42watt=150 watt cfls... my ladies love it.. im using biobizz soil and foxfarm nutes... my temps for my veg closet are usually around 75-83... i have awsome control of the temps in there... and im running an 18/6 cycle... but yeah back to the hps... wud u go for it or no???

That's a good price but personally I would use an air cooled hood.
Because you'll have to keep that light far away to keep temps down which negates the purpose of having a brighter light.

Exactly. However that setup is good enough and later you can pick up a hood for a hundred..

yeah man believe me my mouth waters when i see the dual 600 watt hps air cooled =] but i have to wait a month till i get the money for that... what kind of hood can i buy for this system for 100??? im curious to see wat u mean... thanks!
