i'd tie a hose or something to the tree to the pot and just turn on the water everyday. i'd be like why is that grown ass man climbing that tree everyday with a gallon of water.
i wait until my neighbors(who all work mon-fri) to leave..the only days im up there when they are around is saturday.. No one will see me up in the tree because no one can even see the tree im in, its in my freaking side/backyard squished between my house and my neighbors..im a young guy (22 yrs old) so its not really that difficult to climb a tree 30 ft with a gallon of water in my hand...
Thanks to whoever proposed that camo idea..I am going to build sides on the platform and spraypaint it leafy green as well as spraypaint the actual platform green...i cant tie a hose, we use it here at the house to water plants..."hmm why is that hose leading to the top of the tree?" id deff get caught then by the landlord lol...I say, If no one if even thinking about trees or tree tops on a daily basis, ( because who actually walks around and looks at tree tops) then i should be fine...no one will ever know...muahahahahahaha...

Dam guys cant i get some +rep for balls and innovation lol....

Right on bro!! I'll give you props. I've always wanted to do this. I'm staying put for this one. Once they're established set up a pump. Fuck climbing that tree. You've got em out at the right time and being clones they should'nt get to big by harvest. That's what I love about this site "that plant is stretching too much". Pure comedy. Keep up the good work and posts.

Thats kinda what I was thinkin,, that painting the platform green, and only when you go up have on camos or greenish clothes....Now,, about that hose,, make sure you paint that like the color of the bark on the tree and green up top and your golden,, unless of couse you get caught,,,, then I will say that was a dumb idea,,, Im versatile like that....:peace: GOOD LUCK.....

Few ideas...

Your platform could have cutouts in the bottom so that the pots sit firmly in the recess. This would do two things - most importantly it'd keep the pot itself out of the sun since it'd be in the shade of the platform; and it would also prevent the black pots from drawing attention.

You can pull a few nearby branches over the platform and tie them into positions around the plants as they get older to blend the canopy better.

I like the wick idea, but I would setup a drip irrigation system with a strong pump and a very small tube.. conceal the bottom of the tube at the bottom of a tree with a rock or something, when you need to water simply run an extension cord to your tree, have a bucket with your water/food and the pump in it, connect the hose.. Worried about the hose being visible? Arts and crafts FTW - http://www.save-on-crafts.com/moss.html - take your length of hose, a little paint brush, some glue, and a big stinkin pile of fake moss and get to work.. use 1/4" vynil hose and stake it to the tree with those little nail/clip things that you use to run coaxial cables along the base of a wall.. hell, cover them in some moss too for good measure. Run the tube in a slightly random fashion will make it look less uniform and more natural like a random vine crawling up the tree.

I'd put money on someone spotting this grow though, to be completely honest. Unless you do some serious camouflaging. Props for the idea though, my old boss and I used to joke about doing this. I would personally scatter the buckets and hang them directly on some of the larger branches towards the top of the canopy and setup an irrigation system like I described above.. but not if I lived in California where getting a license is as easy as handing the right doctor 60 bucks.
