I want to start a small grow op in one of the rooms in my home. I want to start growing because my wife and i love to smoke and we're tired of going to shady places and risk going to jail, (AGAIN!) just to have some joker on the end of the line try to make $5 off of us by charging WAY more than what the sack is worth! :cuss: So here's the deal. We have a room that's about 6Wx8Lx9H, two windows, and we have a source to get clones. I would like to have 5 or 6 plants to get a good size harvest. (We smoke a lot!):bigjoint: Ive never grown before so I want to stick to soil, hydroponics seem too much for me for the first go around. Here's my problem, since Ive never done this before I don't know what all I need to get as far as quality equipment goes and Im on limited funds so I don't want to get anything that i don't need. Ive got the time and love but limited knowledge and capital, if any of yall out there would offer some advice from one pot lover to the next I would greatly appreciate it! Yall keep smokin and growin!:weed:

I just ordered a 250w hps light and ballast for 71 dollars including shipping like 10 minutes ago. U will also need some soil. I recommend fox farm i paid 20 bucks for a big ass bag of it. I would also buy some cfls. I got a 4 pack of 15 watts at wallmart for 5 bucks. U should probably get a few packs depending on how many plants. Wat u do is use the cfls from walmart for vegging but make sure the temp is 6400k ( those r the lights that look blue). And use the the hps light for flowering. If u want to get nutrients its gunna run u around another 30 the cheapest. Jus to let u know ur plant will still grow with no nutrients but u will get less harvest. But if its for personal use than jus grow without them if u are low on funds. Just get them for the next grow. I myself also grow for personal use. Theres nothing like smoking ur own stuff. Its funny because my wife loves to smoke jus like me. As does ur wife with u. Not to many people like that these days. Everyone should smoke weed =) good luck and happy growing

Anyone looking to buy cfls, go to COSTCO! I bought a 6 pack of 23watters for $7. Now im using a 1000w mh but i still use them around the house to save energy.

Why buy books when you have the internet? Free information is what it does best. Firstly, check youtube for some "build your own grow room" type vids. There are plenty out there, and seeing the rooms being constructed really helps you get an idea of what kind of stuff you will need.

Your choices of equipment should be based on how much weed you will need from one harvest to the next, how much money you have available to spend initially, and how professionally you want to do it, amongst other factors.
