Newbie ventilation question

When people talking about needing fresh air, are they referring to actual air from the outside of the house/apartment or can it be exchanged with air in another room? I realize air serves a dual purpose of keeping things cool and providing CO2 to the plants, but I don't have any windows just a sliding glass door so exchanging air to the outside would be a bit hard because I would have to keep the door open all the time.

you dont "have" to get fresh air from outside , but it would help , i got a grow box and all i did was got 2 pc fans and put one fan blowing into the grow box and another fan on the other side blowing it out of the box and its just sucking in air from the same room just curculateing the air so it gets somewhat of fresh air and a nice little breeze

Your right about needing to stay cool and co2. But outside air has so much more mixed in that even if you can open a window in living room and push fresh air towards grow room , that would be good.

What you are trying to avoid is a "sealed room" condition where the co2 is consumed and depleted...

You want to make sure that "new air" with a "fresh" supply of co2 is available to avoid problems...

Air from another room should be fine...

Well I sort of live in a loft where there are 2 stories and I have about 700 ft^2 per floor, but it is all basically one huge room.

Do you think I will have to keep a door open 24/7 or is getting air in from the A/C any good?

I have been whipping some ideas around and think I have settled on a system, I will post back when construction is complete.
