i checked it out on the other thread.. its cool shit bro.. VERY cool shit for those who need it... but it brings to question.. can a MH ballast preform in the same manner as the HPS does?? i think the initial start up charge on an HPS ballast and less than that of an MH ballast... so i wonder if the MH ballast would fry an HPS bulb?? or maybe im wrong up the start up surge... but that leads me to believe everyone should just buy 1000w hps ballasts to begin with and decide which bulb they want to use when.. start out with the 1000w ballast with a 400w bulb for germing.. a 600w for the first week of veg to get them used to things.. and then blast them with a 1000w to finish up.. it would be the most ultra efficient way to grow both money wise due to electrical cost and bulb life.... good idea huh?

so its really only MH bulbs that work in HPS ballasts?? maybe its opposite of what i think.. maybe it takes more initial fire to get an hps running than an MH.. so maybe the mh ballast doesnt give enough of an initital charge to get the hps fired??

ya im glad im back too! i was miserable without riu!!! i think i wrote u a email yesterday!!thats cool shit... i would have been freaking out trying it the first time... a lot of ballasts now work either HPS and MH.. i know the digital ballast can take either... so i only need 1 ballast per HID i use.. and can use either HPS or MH in it... there is a 600w one that uses the conversion bulb.. but other than that i just need to throw whichever bulb i want to use in... all the ballasts come with warrantys so i dont want to fuck with trying a different watt bulb with the ballasts.. i know that would void the warranty.. but its good guys like you bro who show shit for what it really is... really, i wonder why you would need two different ballasts anyways?? if a bulb is 400w, its 400w.. i would think as long as the socket accepted the bulb it wouldnt matter as long as the bulb wattage doesnt exceed the ballast wattage... good shit tho bro.. i thank you for all those who are yet to buy ballasts and were gonna purchase two seperate ones!!
fuck yea ive had some problems... not anything i didnt really expect or think could go wrong.. just sucks... and most everything is depedant on everything else... if i had the water chiller already, tho, i wouldnt have any real worry... oh well.. thanks for the support!! i am confident i will get it together.. had my moment of doubt.. but seedlings die... not every one has 100% growth rate with their girls... hell yea bro.. glad your back around... didnt find out much about the situation.. didnt say anything to the guys either.. didnt want to start a mass freak out.. but you can tell them what happened if you want... i imagine if the local law enforcement or any governement law enforcement would want anything from RIU all they would have to do is soppena it... RIU doesnt have a privacy clause in the contract we "sign" to join... so we are sort of fucked... just gotta be careful what you post and how you post it...
my final dried weight was just over 25 ounces.. ended up with a .43 grams per watt average.. which, given the situation im very happy with.. would have liked to have more.. but cant really complain with what i got..
as you can see from the new pics i pretty much have a soilid conopy of light over the girls.. still keeping numbers low.. just opting for bigger girls.. i just think in the end ill be better off... so for the veg room i have 2480w's.. 1680 of the floros.. and 800w of HPS.. i am only using the HPS bulbs this grow because i have to flower on the same side again.. didnt get to expand like i wanted so... but once they burn out itll be switched to MH...
as far as the a/c... here are the things you have to weight... a window a/c you dont have to worry about exhausting.. since it is in the window it exhausts itself out side.. which means no heat... but you are at the mercy of where the window is... a portable a/c can be moved into the tent, which means you can run it a little cooler and not so hard, since the area its cooling is where the a/c is... but you have to exhaust the heat from it... i personally would try to use the portable and keep the window as an exhaust window.... but it just depends on where you would exhaust the heat from the tent if you had the window unit and if how you would exhaust the heat from a portable....
so like i said temps got down to the low 80s.. and are still there this morning... its a LOT cooler today than its been.. not waking up to 85+ degrees outside is great... ive lost 3 girls so far.. pretty sure its 2 chemdog and 1 og kush... the BB and WS are fuckin fighters for sure.. the WS corrected the unintended super crop she got yesterday.. so i know they are still responding a little... but growth is stalled almost... ill take stalled growth over death knowing that in a few days growth will increase 10 fold with the addition of the chiller and a second exhaust fan... so things are starting to look up... slightly.. but you cant really go anywhere but up when your at the bottom right?!

But theres so many different models to choose from, i need to find the one that best fits for a grower, ill be doing some research today and then probally get it tonight! for the heat issue i will buy some more ducting and just cut a 6 inch hole in the cardboard on my window and exhaust it out the window like my hood is exhasuting!!! it was so hot last night

as far as BTU goes.. i would suggest a 10000 to 12000 btu... even if it is a little bigger than what you need, that just means it wont have to run as hard.. i burned up the a/c i had going because it was only a 7500 btu a/c and couldnt keep up...

11,000btu is keeping my 12x7.5' grow room with 2600w at 72-80 tops.. make sure to get 1 with manual controls so it can be hooked to a standard timer or a environmental controller..word of caution the digital 1's have 24 hour digital timers, that only work for 24 hours, then u have to simply hit the timer button again, once a day, 60days st8...think about it Dank...

i dont think they would banned your for that.. as long as you dont completely trash them.. just make everyone aware that if the officials want information that RIU will give them it... and to be cautious with posts... just dont go in saying fucking RIU are a buncha of narcs blah blah blah...
personally for your set up a portable 10,000 BTU would be fine... it only needs to cool your room and will passively cool your tent just fine..

its a pain.. i will love it more once i can get the res temp down to 65 to 70... but for now its being more of a pain than soil.. but oddly enough i like it a lot more.. i guess cause its new and interesting...
not really bro... just danks story... he fuckin got woke up a last week about 6 am by the po po's with a search warrant... they had convos from RIU in hand as evidence... its crazy.. he should just tell the story...
