Hey guys, this is my first grow. im going to be using

2 42watt CFL's
i have an afgooey clone that i got from my cousin. hes grown a bunch of good shit and its a clone of his mother afgooey plant. It is in some mg topsoil with some perlite in it. ive had it under the lights now for 4 days. i have the light cycle set to 18hrs on 6 off. i also have a temporary enclosure until the weekend till i can get to the store to get a cabinet or somehing. for now it is in a 3'x2'x3. (hxdxw) i have a fan sitting in there now circulating the air and a little blowing on the plant to strengthen the roots up.
Now when i got the clone to leaves on the bottom set of nodes were yellowish brown and curling. since then they have looked better and better so i think it will be ok. i will have some pics up later..and let me know if theres anymore info i need to put up....any input would be awesome guys thanks....bongsmilie ill post some pics later

85 is ok...but you wanna aim for lower around 77-83 and 65-70 lights out,

a fan hitting the CFL's will dot he trick fast....they dont hold heat nearly as much when they are gting fresh air (or even a exaust pulling air off of them works for me)

the bad leaves look like they are just pulling extra nitrogen b/c it hasnt rooted to well yet ...could be wrong though...you nuting them yet ? (if you said they are looking better then they did its probably that...pulled nitrogen from leaves before it took root and now it is rooted and doesnt need to use Pre stored Nitrogen. )

Lookin good keep on truckin

i have used any nutes at all yet still waiting on that. speaking of that what do you guys recommend that i could get at walmart/home depot/mernards or something. yea we clipped a couple leaves in half in the begging cuz i was worried about the lack of n. now they seem to be doing way better... alot of new growth on the top. I also got my new enclosure today. then i shatterd my 2 cfls when i was changing cabinets.:cuss: so i had to run to walmart and buy 2 more. o well not that bad, at least they didnt fall on her. so now its all setup in the new enclosure and going good. i also waterd today. ive been watering every 3 days. and about 2 20oz bottles of distelld water. does that all seem right to you guys. and i will post some new pics in a few. let me know what u guys think.. im getting excited to see her get bigbongsmilie

......o i forgot...what do u guys think about the stem bending so much..i think it might be from the fan blowing too much air on it... so i have put it to where the plant barely moves from it.. what do you guys think? thanks for any help

so now the plant has grown a lot. I have kept moving the lights up every couple days and the plant grows closer to it. I try and keep it about 2-4 inches away. the biggest leave on the plant has a little yellowing color on the tip and a tiny little spot on another finger of the same leaf. What do you guys think about that? well today i switched to 12/12, the 2 hairs identifying sex have been noticible for about 3-4 days. The last time i waterd i used about 3.5 20oz bottles of the distelled. I am going to start using about a half gallon every 4 days. What do you guys think about that? Any input would be great. I have a bunch of unaswered questions all through this journal. O and i am wondering about the nutes... right now i have the all purp mg stuff from walmart. what do some of you expierienced guys think about me adding just like a teaspoon every other water? I will have some pics up in a few mins

Hey Kaspa.

Just checking out your grow mate.
Your pics are really small so it's pretty hard to see what's going on.
From what i can make out all looks pretty cool.

Make sure when you water you get some run off out the bottom of your pot.
It's hard to say weather it need liquid nutes because that mg soil should have ferts in it already.
If the plants looks green it doesn't need nutes.
Also if your leaf tips are yellowing that a sign of nute burn so i wouldn't be using liquid nutes just yet.

Have your fan blowing across the top of the plant between the bulbs and the top growth, not directly onto the plant.
Are you exhausting the hot air out of the cab in any way?

Do you plan on adding more lights?
I'm not a cfl grower but 80w doesn't seem like much.
See if you can get some larger pics as well so we can all see better.

ya sorry about those pics man. i got a little better camera now, but not much better. is there anyway i can resize the image after its on my computer. so the plant is a few days into flowering and the sets of 2 female hairs are getting thicker. i am going to water again tonite when the lights come on in like 20 mins. i will also take some pics then too. and im not sure if the tips are yellowing because of nute burn. i am pretty sure the soil is all organic with some perlite. i think it might be a lack of nutes but im not sure. i havent trimmed or cut anything off the plant since ive had it. is this good or should i trim or what? <<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>.... and on one of my big leaves it lookes like a coulple fingers on it have like a black color barely on the tip. i really need some feedback guys it wwould be awesome. also, now i am just have my fan facing up have the air blowing out of a hole in my covering . its seems to work ok for now, i plan on cutting an intake port and an exhaust port...(is it intake double size of ex. or the other way around?) thanks guys and let me know if you need anymore info to help me out

You should be able to find some free editing software on the net, use google to find it.
Make your pics at least 600x600 pixels.
Rule of thumb is to remove only what is dead off the plant.
If your intake is too small in a small grow cab you'll work your exhaust fan too hard to suck air in.
I would have mine the same size in a small grow area or intake slightly bigger.
Make sure it's all light tight though.

so i downloaded something on google that was supposed to help me resize it, but ive done what it says and it still is the original size, idk but ill keep tryin but for now i got some more pics from day 20. the hairs are starting to get more dense and looks like little buds are starting. But there is still some yellow spots on some of the leaves. Would that be because i have not used any nutes yet? And the soil i am using doesnt have any nutes in it either. And i kno that in flowering you dont want alot of n in your nutes. does anyone know if there is anything available i could get from anywhere around my house..(walmart/homedepot/menards) thanks for your responds mammath, i havent yet cut the holes for the exhaust and intake because the temp stays low with out it. do you guys think i should still make the cuts? i plan on using a bigger cab next time so future grows are not an issue. what do you guys think... well heres the pics

they might be alittle bigger but im not sure. ill work on the whole resizing thing

It's OK to have a good supply of N in the flowering nutes for the first 4 - 5 weeks of flower.
The plant needs the N to stretch, form bud sites, and keep foliage healthy.
As for bloom nutes just get an all purpose bloom fert for something like fruit trees.
It should have a higher P and K than N but still needs some N in it.

ya i was reading u wanted a low n for flowering, but it makes sense that some is still needed in the early stages of flowering. I have some mg all purpose. 20-20-20. what do you think about that? how much? just some ques. im thinking if i use it only like 1tsp ever other watering?
