ya you can grow a plant outdoors that yeilds quite a bit more than a pound if you know what your doing and have the right conditions. Check out jorge cervantes ultimate grow 1,2,3 videos. i downloaded them from thepiratebay.com they have great growing tips int here along with alot of really nice indoor, outdoor, and hydro growrooms. i belive in the second one there are several outdoor grow sites where the plants yeild upwards of 3 pounds. these plants are massive tho. grown in spain, around 15 feet tall. anywase those videos are produced by hightimes and he also has a book called marijuana horticulture with is my bible. especially for nute problems. theres pictures of a leaf for each type of nute (minor and major) that is slightly burn, burnt, and healing. also thousands of usefull other information like home-made organic pesticides and organic fertilizer mixes.

I hope my repti-glo 2.0 isn't a total waste. Keep in mind it is the 26 watt, not the 13. It gives off quite a bit more red spectrum, so I thought it was better for flowering. Plus 1.0 only came in 13 watts at my pet store. I would hope that between the added red light, the UVB and UVA, that this bulb would at least be better than a normal bulb of 26 watts? It says "stimulates plant growth" right on the box as well. I don't really know about the science that much, would I be better off just replacing them with 2 x 13 watt repti-glo 1.0 s?

I understand that 2.0 gives of 5% versus 10%, but I run them the full 12 hours, how long do people use their repti-glos, cause I've heard of people just turning them on for like 1 hour and shit?

well if you think about it, out in nature the plants receive as much uvb and uva that the sun gives off throught the day, so i would fiqure would be to give it the same amount indoors as well?? so if you have the grow lights on, then the uv bulbs should be on also. but im also a beginner too

Unlike outdoors, indoor lighting gives off a constant amount of UV at all times. Outdoors, due to the angle that light hits the atmosphere at different times of day, the UV amount rises to a peak around mid day, then drops off. It would be hard to emulate this indoors without some complicated multi-bulb setup, or a vertical light mover that lowers the light to increase the intensity, then raises it again to decrease.

That being said, there are many opinions on how best to use UVB, and nothing is set in stone. The most "natural" use of the light would probably be to use it for a few hours during the midday "peak", but I think a 10.0 bulb would be the best for that. It seems reasonable that a 2.0 bulb should be used for a longer period, possibly the full 12 hours to make up for the decreased output compared to the 10.0. It's not exactly how it works in nature, but if it does the job, it's all good. :bigjoint:

Ya man, I can't really think of anything much more controversial than how to best add UV during cannabis growing. Seems like people agree some UVB should come in at some point during flowering but that's about where any agreement ends, as everyone seems to have different thoughts of how and when to administer UVB/UVA
