Air cooled hood and non air cooled hood

i recently acquired a 1000w electromagnetic ballast , with reflector hood for the 1000w light. It came with a new eye hortilux arc bulb for $300 total.. It also came with a bunch of hydro nutes and a ebb & flow table 4x2 in size approx.

I had already got a 600w air cooled hood and a 600w mh conversion bulb. I planned on getting another air cooled hood of course to have better ventilation. Anyone recommend what I can do with one air cooled and one not in a 5x10 tent until i can afford to trade or buy a new air cooled hood. THANKS!

also I planned on doing soil only but after reading how much faster you can get meds in hydro and this deal came along I figured I would get it while it was there.. ANY IDEAS are super appreciated!

Hey man post some pics of the non air cooled reflector. I have a non air cooled one and all i did was go to home depot and buy a plain reducer (venting piece) and attached it to my reflector and then hooked that up to my carbon filter and then to my inline fan and vented out of my closet. it works great and there is no heating issue.

BTW make sure you have a vent bringing in fresh air, your plants will like this a lot.!!

I went a week just now without a hood. I kept the 8 in fan tube right next to the bulb and honestly the hood and the no hood trials are kinda ticking me off as they seem like the same temp. That is right. With no hood and the 8 in fan next to the bulb it is almost the same as a cooltube! SO wrap your ass around that! :)

i dont think it has anywhere to attach a duct to. all it has is some vents on both sides of the hood if i remember correclty.

If there is no flange to fix ducting to, try either wedging the ducting through the hole/s or drill holes around the edge of the vent and tie the ducting on with zip ties.

i re wired an air cooled hood so i have 2 air cooled hoods now one 1000 w and 1 600 w.. i have an ac unit in the tent as well as a can 66 filter and 8"vortex sucking air from the can 66 and blowing it thru the light hoods and then out the tent into the closet as well as the hot air from ac blowing into closet. problem is the temps are ranging from like 78-82 and thats with no lights on or the propane burner running at all in the room..

will cutting a hole in the ceiling of the closet and ducting the hot air blowing into their currently into the ceiling of the closet help the temps? i need some help yall :)

Yeah you need to get the hot air completely away from the growroom, the easiest way would probably be to blow it into the attic.
