How much is in a lid?

I was just watching cheech and chong, and they were always trying to "score a lid." Ive never heard that term up here before, so can anybody tell me how much is in a lid, and how much it would go for?

i'm only 21 and i know what a lid is... back in the hippie days a 4 finger lid was an ounce and i've heard they used to go for $15-20:leaf: (at least that's what i've heard my parents say in the past)

A lid is an 1/8th.

In the 60's when you wanted weed.
It came in a can. A Prince Albert tobacco can.
The can held approx. 1 oz.
The lid held approx. 1/8th.

Most lids were 3 or 4 fingers wide in a baggie. mostly leaves and stems. At least in my area. Didn't cost much, but you didn't get much. They use to sell by the finger because scales were expensive and rare.

I don't know about that - Thai stick was readily available in the late 70s and early 80s.
In the thirty years since then I have yet to see anything that compares - and I have seen plenty.

ur all wrong.a lid is 3/4 or three fingers.$20 dollars back in the day.got my first q.p. in 1973 for $1oo bucks musta had 50-60 grams of seeds an stems,now that was SCHWAG!!!!!peace

You must be kidding me......on a general level....weed is better now than it was in the 70's......yes you could find weed now that is not as good as weed you got in the 70's but theres really no reason to nit pick like that....

The statement is 100% true....weed is better now than it was 40 years ago

Weed was plenty good back then. Made you really high, rather than stoned. A lid of swagg was 15 bucks, but the Columbo Gold was a whopping 35.00. I'd pay a grand to be able to get that stuff again.

I remember paying $15 a lid in 1970. There wasn't much in it volume wise - maybe enough for 15 joints - depending on how you rolled them. The quality of the stuff I got was very lacking. Lots of stems and seeds - maybe 1/2 stems/seeds and 1/2 leaf. No buds that I can remember. It did get you high, however, but made you very hungry (and paranoid).
This was in Southern Alabama, so that probably affected quality, cost and availability.

I remember Acapulco Gold, Panama Red, and Colombian.
