INCOME TAXES ARE ILLEGAL: so don't pay.

Where would money for basic services come from? I like trash collection, parks, roads, etc...

I'm all for lower taxes and think that it is currently a burden for the middle class. I'd love to see corporations contribute like the little man has to. Shift some money around and take the burden off the middle and lower class. But everyone has to pay some taxes - just a little...
Basic services to one person are not the same to another. Let those who use the services pay for them and those who don't should not be made to.

Roads could still exist and and can still be maintained by user fees and privatization. We breathed air before it was untaxed and we used private roads before government jumped in.

I have no interest in taking anyone's money whether they are rich or poor under the force of government "benevolence". Everybody "has to pay some taxes" because they fear the consequences and the force if they don't. Paying for what you use is responsible and freedom, being made to pay for something else you do not use is what?

You don't have to pay taxes. However, by living here, you tacitly agree to pay for the services the US has to offer - the freedom, the security, public services, etc...

If it bothers you that much, move to an area that has no taxes (good luck finding one). People keep saying the government is FORCING you to pay taxes, but they're not. You agreed to pay the taxes by living here. You can always leave. And I don't want to sound harsh - I'm not telling you leave because of a dislike. I just want to point the possibility and the freedom out to you.

We've already argued this point. Tacit consent is flawed. I've agreed to nothing. Government does not have my consent tacit or otherwise, they simply have more force than me. You cannot "always leave" they shake the nickels out of your pocket at the borders, the fuckers.

Would it surprise most of you to know that for the most part the income tax doesn't pay for ANY public services? The income tax is used to pay the interest on the debt the US has...the Deficit. The US government Borrows at interest all the money it needs to operate. Each year that deficit grows and so does our debt, because the USA is like those people that only pay the minimum payment on their 40,000 Visa bill. It takes them 30 years to pay it off and over that time it cost them 150,000. Now just add 9 zeros behind those numbers and you have the USA. We will never be able to pay that off, the interest payments will soon be more than the whole GDP and when that happens the USA is officially Bankrupt as it will no longer be able to service the debt. The Government will have to start selling things off to the highest bidder. Things like roads, parks, land, bridges will have to be sold to pay the debt.

We didn't have an income tax in this country for almost 200 years, when it was first voted on it was a tax on the top 2% of the nations money earners and it did not apply to the middle or lower class folks. But just like boiling frogs they have over the years turned the heat up, but its been so gradual no one seemed to notice. Every year just another 1/4 % tax here and there adds up over 90 years, now everyone has to pay a tax, well everyone but the rich and powerful.

Don't get me wrong, Im not against paying FAIR taxes. Like gasoline, tobacco, alcohol, state and local sales taxes, property taxes things like that that REALLY pay for the infrastructure that we all use on a daily basis. I am however against paying someone else a tax upon my own labor, as if they OWN me or something. I own myself.

oh, so this is why my roads all suck, the schools in town are turning out retards, the parks are run down, and why NY is a dump.

furthermore, I dont feel The government provides us with freedoms, security, or decent public services. why then should anybody pay taxed to a system that does not work.

if nobody payed takes for 1 year we could overthrow the government and put in a system that actually has common sense.

Paying taxes is not inherently wrong. Wasting the tax money is....and that is the problem today. If the govt. were actually run with some sort of fiscal responsibility (it is not), our rates would be much much lower.

So the principle is okay, but the methodology is typical govt...... inefficient and wasteful. Sort of why Obama is becoming a horrific President.....he thinks the opposite is true.

i think we need to change the way we get our "leaders". it seems all of its old power old family bull shit.

we need to take a pool of randomly qualified people from the "public" and give them a chance to enter in a "raffle" of some sort to choose the law makers for a single term of say 3 years.

it would eliminate all the crap that goes with elections and whatnot while still keeping the "people" voting on what they think matters.

I can still see voting for a president but let the house be run by....us?

Start firing ppl! Next midterm election cycle, get rid of every incumbent, no matter the party. If they were there before, they need to be fired. That would very quickly wake them up. If we need to do it again in 2012, then so be it. I think a sweeping change is necessary. The best place to do it is at the voting booth.
