anyone who hates walmart hates capitalism and market economies. so wake up you ignorant communist. haha
but really, walmart bashing is fucking dumb. they are what every business wants to be. i dont care if the supposively treat their employees shitty. they make minimum wage and have no skills. if they want to be treated good, they should work hard and go to college and get a good job. they have low prices. their products aren't that inferior, especialy for the price.
it sucks that they push out small businesses. but the small businesses know the risk when they open their small business. and yes, i hate that all they sell is miracle grow. but that is not too big of a problem. AND I HIGHLY DOUBT THAT THEY GIVE 2 SHITS THAT WEED GROWERS CANT GET THEIR SHIT THERE.
OVERALL I LOVE WALMART
I don't mind capitalism, it's not the greatest system ever, but it works alright in theory. It just promotes greed.
And don't bash on communism unless you understand it, in theory communism is an amazing system it's just never used correctly. Corruption happens, as with any system of government. These anti-communist, post Cold War, McCarthyist views have really set into American life haven't they?
Communism is the little guys dream, the hard working average Joe (Proletariat) has all the power, instead of the people who employ the hard working average Joe (Bourgeois). Maybe take a minute (or many more) to read the Manifesto someday, you might find out that Carl Marx wasn't the devil after all.
Anyway sorry, I'm sick of people automatically being anti-communist because they're American. I'm American too BTW, born and raised on the same anti-communist views. I just decided to do a little reading for myself to found out if I was REALLY anti-communism or not.
Anyway...WalMart, right.
WalMart got demonized as well, in its early days WalMart had a tendency to target small towns and set up shop with the townspeople unaware of the effect this might have on their locally owned businesses. Generally, they went out of business due to not being able to compete with WalMart's everyday low prices and constant rollback savings. But people caught on to this fact after a while and took action to keep WalMart out of their small towns. So that's not an issue anymore. If there's a WalMart leeching life from your small town, your friends and neighbors voted it there. Shitty.
The only issue I have with WalMart is the exploitation of overseas workers. Those everyday low prices on WalMart brand products come from pretty much slavery overseas folks. Not from a smiley face flying around in a zorro mask slashing prices.
As for the American workers, I pretty much agree with you Jact. If you didn't want to work at a WalMart, you probably should've tried harder not to. But on that note WalMart has a tendency to exploit those workers(overtime with no added pay, insufficient time off, etc.), as well as employ illegal aliens. I don't agree with that.
Which is why I don't shop there.
But that's just my educated opinion on the subject, don't let that stop you guys from taking advantage of everyday low prices. Or I guess hating communism.
