I'm about a week and a half in...looking for any critiques or suggestions on how these guys look. Six White Skunks not sure which is male or female yet (got these for free).

It's a closet grow:
* 4 x 42W 6400K CFL
* 2 x 26W 6400K CFL

just transplanted them into the smaller pots today. Not looking to grow absolutely massive plants. maybe looking to get one or two buds a plant? not sure yet. not even sure what is male and female yet. the lights are about 9" - 12" above the plants right now. Air temperatures are great, sitting between 70-75F at all times.

any suggesitons or critiques? :joint:

You should get those lights closer to the plants. CFLs run pretty cool, so the closer the better. 3-5 inches is best. Otherwise, things are looking good man. Hope it all goes well for you.

Yea man get those cfls closer.. youll b amazed at the growth rate, other than that you might need a moisture/ph/ meter, and some hight nitro fertz as soon as you hit about 3 weeks or so.. get those cfls at least 2 to 3" from plants!!

hey man nice setup. i got a journal going using some cfls. u def need those lights closer or they will streeeetch like crazy for the lights. i keep my 68w'ers like an inch to an inch and a half away with no signs for burning. but looks nice. are you goin to enlose ur cabinet or does it have doors? i dont think i saw any in the pics? in not u should because u need to reflect the light or uur lumens are goin to waste...just what i think might help..good luck man.

also if using cfls get thos 68watters (they fit in regular sockets unless it has the reflector cone on it) for flower they emit 4800 lumens and give you some nice fat nuggs

Thank you all for the reply. I dropped them down to about 3" or so from the plants so hopefully they'll start taking off soon! I lost one a couple days ago during the germ process for some reason :( (would have had seven, but only six). These guys are slowly but surely making their way out! Just transplanted them, so hopefully they'll be loving that soil!

I have some fish fertilizer...when can I start using that?

Forgot to add that I have no reflectors in there...I leave one of the doors open to keep air moving throughout the cupboard. Should I get some mylar or maybe some tinfoil??

If you end up using something for reflection, definitely go with mylar. Foil creates hot spots and will burn your plants. You should considering installing some kind of outtake/intake fans or something too, if you havent already. That will help you control the temps more while utilizing more light by having it closed at all times. Also - I used fish emulsion too and it worked awesome during veg. That stuff STINKS though! Anyways, I waited until the fifth node to start nutes. And when I started I used it at 1/2 strength the first few waterings, then jumped up to 100% after a couple weeks. Anyways. Hope this helps. And I hope everything goes well for you.

Thanks so much for your guys' replies. I'm kind of freaking out because these guys are a little on the small side right now. They sat in rockwool for about a week before transplanting into soil.

After adding some mylar...what else do you all recommend? I moved the lights to approximately 4" above the plants. Should I move the bulbs so more light is coming off the sides of the bulbs?

I'm kind of freaking.

Hey dude - Give them a little time to get adjusted. It shocks them a little bit when things happen so fast, and they tend to slow down for a week at most and then growth will continue. I think you can get away with having your lights closer than that. I'd say put them about 2 inches above the plants. That's how close I had them without ever having signs of burning. Try to keep the light directed toward the plants. As long as the plants are receiving direct light it should be fine. No need to freak out man. These are resilient little plants. The WORST thing you can do is panic and start overwatering. As long as you give them time, they will bounce back.

hey man i would def keep those lights between 1-2 inches away.. i keep my 68's about an inch without any signs. and i would def get the mylar right away. and like the dude said above me, no worries man just dont dont dont dont over water, what i do is lift the plant up right after i water it to see how much it weighs, and every night i lift it to test the weight. by doin that u can def tell when its dry. it will be very light. i have a 3 gal pot and i water about every 3 days
